We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Engineer to join the Kimberly-Clark Professional Global Product Development Team, focused on providing guidance and leadership in identification, development, optimization and problem solving for the scale-up of pre-sat wiper manufacturing.  The Senior Engineer for this role will also execute large scale innovation and renovation plans in the pre-sat wiper category.  This role will also devote time to business support and brand maintenance activities as directed by business needs.  The position will be located in Roswell and reports to the Global R&E Product Development leader.

The role is critical to maintaining our leadership position in the pre-sat wiper category. The incumbent will be a key contributor to developing process and manufacturing strategies to execute on brand-led innovation, renovation, and business support plans, working cross-functionally to ensure products meet established brand standards and regulatory and quality guidelines. This position requires an individual who thrives in a global environment and brings forward subject matter knowledge in the wiper and pre-saturated wiper categories.

Responsibilities include:


  • Developing and implementing strategy for short, mid, and long-term process commercialization activities for pre-sat wipers.

  • Identifying, leading and/or supporting product, material, or process projects.

  • Leading initiatives to improve cost, quality, or converting performance in partnership with cross-functional Regulatory, Quality, and Product Supply teams.

  • Providing protection to technologies, processes, materials, and products through appropriate use of patents and trade secrets.

  • Planning and carrying out project responsibilities with limited assistance and direction leveraging research principles, scientific analysis, and project management tools.

  • Enabling business support needs to enable regional quality and regulatory requirements.

  • Partnering with Category & R&E program leaders to understand the cadence of product innovation.

  • Working with regional teams to execute scalable renovations.

  • Leading qualification or commercialization activities for identified solutions.

The incumbent must be able to:


  • Work effectively with across regional and global cross-functional teams such as quality, product safety, regulatory, manufacturing and life cycle maximization teams. 

  • Communicate and document project plans and results to key stakeholders.

  • Develop robust timelines, budgets, and resource forecasts.

  • Ensure that capital projects are completed safely to customer expectations, within budgets and in compliance with Internal Control Procedures.  

Basic Qualifications:


  • A Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a related major scientific field or engineering discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5-15 years of experience in a variety of technical assignments in a professional R&D or engineering capacity.

  • Demonstrated leadership in achieving results, process design and implementation is essential.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete projects within required timeframes.

  • A track record of strong project leadership capabilities and communication/stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills is desired with the ability to leverage systematic methodology as Kaizen, 6 sigma, good statistic skills, able to lead successfully SPS sessions. 

  • Experience in Quality management systems and GMP’s​.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Past experience with hard surface disinfecting/sanitizing products or chemistries, including blending, converting, new product commercialization, and regulatory compliance.

  • Use LEAN, Six Sigma, or other recognized techniques to identify complex technical issues, help identify the root cause of the problem, and develop control solutions for long-term control and/or containment.

  • Proficiency in use of internal Kimberly-Clark systems, including (but not limited to) EtQ, SAP-GUI, and SAP-PLM.  Proficiency in JMP or other statistical analysis tools. 

  • Manufacturing experience though external or a Kimberly-Clark Mill assignment.

  • Strong customer facing communication skills in technical and business settings are highly encouraged.
