Job Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES 
 


  • Provide advance networking knowledge to troubleshoot and isolate simple to complex applications or communication issues

  • Provide support for a networking environment consisting of Cisco Routers, Switches, firewalls, Call Manager, Cisco Video Conference devices, Meraki Wireless Access Points and Switches


  • Configure and provide administrative support for network monitoring tools like Solarwinds, Cisco DNA and Netbrain.  

  • Create and update documentation on operational procedures and network topology.

  • Create change management requests that outline the planned changes, a validated test plan, and rollback procedures in the event they are needed.

  • Tests and evaluates networks systems to eliminate problems and make improvements in development, quality assurance, and production environments

  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and manage competing demands and tasks

  • Work collaboratively with other SME’s and team members on project solutions

  • Possess good communication skills both written and verbally

REQUIRED SKILLS
 


  • Intermediate level understanding of dynamic routing protocols BGP, iBGP and OSPF.

  • Intermediate Cisco Voice and Video; Unity, Jabber, WebEx, SIP

  • Intermediate working knowledge of networking components inclusive of applications layer firewall, F5 load balancers, routers, wireless access, switches and virtual private networking (VPN).


  • High level of understanding and hands on experience in real-time network Troubleshooting

  • Proven hands-on network administration/engineering experience

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS

  • Network programming experience (Perl, Puppet, Chef, or Ansible)
