Description

The Instructional Designer is responsible for the end-to-end development of learning solutions for the organization and our clients. The individual in this role will use business requirements and end user information to design, develop, test, and assess learning programs within the organization and for use with external clients. Close collaboration with internal stakeholders of the organization, experience in training design and delivery, as well as knowledge of learning theories and best practices will ensure that the Instructional Designer helps bring learners to the desired and optimal skill state. Key relationships include the Global Chief Learning Officer, Global Compliance Team, Global IT Team; and the Global Learning & Development Team.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning


    • Integrate organizational goals and vision into learning solutions.

    • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and internal stakeholders to understand learning scope and vision.

    • Build business cases for solution designs and implementation.

    • Clearly identify training program targets and establish user case scenarios, as well as their characteristics and gaps.

Learning Design


    • Develop elearning and live learning solutions, videos, training content, activities and development programs.

    • Work closely with SMEs and internal stakeholders to prepare appropriate content for programs including elearning, classroom training materials, leader guides, related activities and tools

    • Incorporate blended learning and other instructional mediums, including self-led and instructor-led programs, e-learning, or traditional classroom settings to create the best experience for knowledge transfer.

    • Develop learning assessment tools and metrics to measure post training effects on employees and measure progress against desired state.

    • Design instructional prototypes and conduct testing and analyses of materials to make recommendations for improvement.

    • Review learning solutions on a continuous basis for quality assurance.

    • Update learning portals and pages, as required

Position Requirements: Formal Education and Certification


    • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources, Instructional Design, Education, Public Relations, Creative Design or other related field.

    • Certification in Instructional Design an asset.

Position Requirements: Knowledge and Experience


    • 5-8 years of experience with preparing training and development programs.

    • Experience with relevant Learning Management Systems and elearning development tools (Articulate, Camtasia) required

    • Experience with Sharepoint, Office 365 and Teams preferred
