Job Description:

Best Buy is seeking an Internal Communications Specialist who will be primarily responsible for supporting executive employee engagement opportunities and various internal speaker series. In addition, this person will provide writing and other event support as needed across our internal channels and will work on a mix of independent and cross-functional projects.

The ideal candidate is extremely organized, comfortable taking initiative and thrives in an environment where deadlines and priorities can change quickly. In this role, you will need the ability to write authentically on behalf of other leaders, so a background in leadership communications support is desired.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Executive engagement support


  • Plans for and executes daily and weekly employee engagement briefings for top executives, including the CEO

  • Identifies and quickly executes on timely opportunities for executive employee engagement, which may include anything from drafting a leader note or composing a post for LinkedIn.


2. Speaker series support
  • Manages multiple simultaneous internal speaker series from start to finish, including:

    • Working cross-functionally across the organization to come up with different topics and speakers

    • Writing short, succinct email pitches to leaders with new topics and ideas for future episodes

    • Creating briefing documents for moderators and drafts questions for each episode

    • Writing email and other promotional language for each episode

    • Working closely with in-house production crew on scheduling and making sure appropriate edits and timelines are met



3. Communications partner

  • Responsible for brainstorming, writing, editing and posting creative content for various internal communications channels

  • Supports the broader communications team as it pertains to enterprise-wide initiatives and special projects


Basic Requirements:

  • 2+ years of developing and implementing strategic internal content or events

  • 2+ years of writing, designing, and publishing communication

  • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience working with and influencing leadership

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
