Overview

Boise Cascade is looking for a Benefits Manager to join their Corporate Total Rewards Center of Expertise (COE) team in Human Resources. Salary will be based on experience. Come grow with us!

The purpose of this position is to lead the design and development of the Company's benefit plans. The benefits manager is responsible for making recommendations to senior leadership to best align benefit offerings to align with business goals and enhance the organization's ability to attract, retain, and reward high performing employees.

Responsibilities


  • Responsible for setting the strategic direction/plan administration of the Company's health, prescription, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, and other voluntary benefit programs.

  • Lead activities to evaluate, recommend, and implement changes and improvements in benefits programs across the Company.

  • Assist in reviewing the company's benefits plans, policies, and procedures to ensure legal compliance with government regulations. Ensures corporate compliance with various governmental regulations including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

  • Monitor and liaison with third party vendors to deliver quality service and programs. Responsible for benefits processes including reviewing reports, conducting performance meetings, and ensuring compliance with plan provisions.

  • Coordinate changes in benefit plan documents and summary plan descriptions including communication plans.

  • Manage Company's 1094-C, 1095-C, and Dept of Labor 5500 health plan annual reporting requirements.

  • Participate in the review of budget allocations of benefits plans.

  • Monitors benefit trends and competitive practices to offer best practice recommendations.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and a point of contact to the HR Leadership Team and management. Provide meaningful reporting to management.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to refine existing processes and procedures and develop new efficiencies.

  • Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement through the mindset and cultivation of Agile practices and principles.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.•

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications :


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, human resources, or related field

  • 4-6+ years' experience of progressive growth and responsibility in the field of benefits mgt.

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines

  • Good interpersonal, communication, and process management skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications :

  • CEBS, CBP certifications

  • Experience in HR transformation project work

  • Experience with multiple HRIS systems
