Job Description:
Arch Insurance Group Inc., AIGI, has an opening with our Corporate Finance Division as a Senior Tax Accountant.
Responsibilities
Specific duties include but not limited to the below:
- Assist with all taxes department duties
- Preparation of premium tax returns
- Process and allocate various state assessments for payment
- Prepare, book and reconcile various journal entries
- Analyze financial statement variances
- Quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and accruals of premium taxes, surcharges & assessments
- Work collaboratively and develop strong relationships with staff and business units
- Special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance
- 5+ years of accounting or finance experience with a property/casualty insurance organization
- Statutory accounting knowledge including preparation of premium taxes
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel with the ability to use complex formulas and pivot tables to manipulate data
- Premium Pro and Great Plains experience is a plus
- Ability to evaluate processes and identify opportunities for improvement
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and robust analytical skills
- Exceptional work ethic, integrity and ability to work autonomously while effectively managing expectations
