GCS is seeking a Senior Director of Product Management to lead the strategy, development, and on-going management of products targeting a direct to consumer audience.  The Senior Director of Product Management will define and execute the product strategy, understand market needs, create customer-centric requirements and roadmaps, maintain competitive analysis, influence product development in an Agile framework, coordinate cross-departmental efforts and contribute to marketing programs with the support of the marketing team.  As a Senior Director you will work closely with the customer experience, marketing and technical teams to the required specification deliverables. The Senior Director will be responsible for the lifecycle of your product line of business – ideation, design, development and support – owning the product, end-to-end.

What You’ll Do


  • Ability to identify market needs and opportunities through a wide variety of sources and generate innovative product offerings and concepts that solve key pain points.


  • Complete market analyses for new concepts: define market needs, size markets/segments, analyze competitive offerings, determine distinctive competencies, define channel strategy, etc. Draw conclusions that result in recommended product strategy.


  • Create a robust pipeline of new products through New Product Innovation, defining proof of concepts and test plans.  Obtain necessary approvals from team members (i.e. compliance, legal, finance, etc.).


  • Drive strategy and product plans based on results.  Develop business plans and product line plans based on life cycle and market analysis, historical financial performance and competitive analysis.  Work with Accounting/Finance, providing input to analysis regarding return on investment and profitability analysis.


  • Lead with a consumer-centric mindset, leveraging leading CX best practices, understanding customer insights, usability studies, competitive research, and analytics to help define and deliver customer and product experiences that meet consumer needs in a seamless way.


Qualifications


  • Manage the strategic full-lifecycle product planning process, including individual product plans, product line plans, the product innovation pipeline and product roadmap.


  • Provide inspiring leadership and direction with Experience Management, Marketing and Technology teams to ensure clarity and understanding across user context and business requirements with adequate detail, from epics to problem statements, use cases, workflows, user stories, wire frames, acceptance criteria, etc.  Hold teams accountable and ensure that releases deliver on the product goals.


  • Own the product quality performance; understanding product use, where friction exists, and defining initiatives that deliver a seamless experience based on product quality and best in class experience.


  • Collaborate cross-functionally to contribute to and execute on go-to-market plans, working with product marketing, pricing, operations, training and sales.


  • You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with team members at various levels, including business leaders.


Extra Points for any of the Following


  • Product leader with 7+ years of experience working with product delivery, design and technology teams; 3+ years of people management; 5+ years writing Epics and User stories


  • Experience creating data and analytics products and services. Understanding of data product development and delivery and technology development processes


  • Experience with simplifying complex user journeys into delightful user experiences in a B2C environment


  • Familiarity with Design Thinking and/or Pragmatic Marketing , and demonstrated expertise with design and mockup tools is preferred


  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity and change in a collaborative and agile environment


  • Excellent relationship and influence management skills and can communicate with product and technology partners effectively (written and verbal)


  • Agency, Consulting, or Technical background is highly desirable


  • Excellent problem solving skills
