BIOTRONIK is looking to add a Commissions Specialist to our Commissions Team.  The Commissions Team manages variable compensation and commissions reporting for all business divisions across Biotronik. We provide a strategic partnership with our business partners by developing and processing compensation plans that are motivating and align with company goals in driving growth. We strive for accuracy, timeliness, and reaching several channels to execute on all our sales compensation processes, while also providing insightful analysis and data to the various groups we support.

About the role: This role requires a results oriented and organized candidate determined to be a subject matter authority for incentive processes and the software used in the implementation. Your Responsibilities


  • Compiles, calculates and processes incentive payouts for commissionable sales reps

  • Creates, reviews and analyzes data to summarizes findings for Management

  • Strong understanding of compensation practices and trends

  • Works closely with Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, HR and Legal teams to ensure accurate incentive plan administration, compliance, calculations and results

  • Read, understand and translate contractual employment agreements into commission calculation schemes that follow contractual obligations, company policies and system requirements 

  • Set up and maintain commission agreements in Vistex (SAP) commissions software, including the management of commission records and documentation

  • Become a subject matter expect in Vistex (SAP)

  • Perform research and analysis to identify and resolve incentive discrepancies related to various financial and/or business partner requirements

  • Cross Train to run month-end commission calculations in the commission software, including calculating certain manual adjustments, manual Sales Achievements calculations and reconciling amounts

  • Creation of and publication of monthly commission statements, including the review and validation of commission amounts and underlying sales detail as described in the Employee Agreement Details

  • Perform ad-hoc general ledger account analysis, reporting and other accounting projects as assigned 

  • Respond to inquiries and concerns from commissioned employees and management, which includes the daily monitoring of e-mail, incoming phone calls and troubleshooting on incentives or related matters

  • Cross-train and fill-in for other financial functions as needed

Your Profile


  • Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field

  • 3-5 years of work experience as a Compensation or Commissions Specialist, Commissions Programmer or similar role at a fast-growing company 

  • 3-5 years experience with Incentive Compensation Software such as Vistex (SAP), Callidus, CompenSafe or other incentive compensation software

  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills and preferred experience in Salesforce, SQL or similar

  • Experience with and ability to think in terms of computer programming logic

  • Strong employment contract analysis skills with ability to understand contractual agreements of a difficult or complicated nature

  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with all levels of management

  • Ability to work independently, under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines

  • Excellent project management, communication, presentation, time-management and organizational skills
