Job Description Summary

The Business Systems Manager is responsible for setting priorities, managing deadlines, conducting and signing performance evaluations for direct report staff and upholding company policies. In this role you will provide leadership on all projects and initiatives. You will have an in depth understanding of the dependencies of system functions and the desired results. The Business Systems Manager is a leader for providing systematic solutions in support of distribution, marketing and financial initiatives. You will work closely with all members of Circulation System Operations team to ensure that appropriate decisions are made and milestones are met.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

The Business Systems Manager is responsible for ensuring that all Circulation initiatives are successfully implemented, sales order entry and commercial delivery processing is completed accurately and timely.

Management of all related transactions and reporting related to Sales Order entry and Commercial Delivery Processing. Including, but not limited to:


  • Successfully develop, manage and motivate staff. Conduct semi-annual performance reviews of direct reports.

  • Coach employees regarding work performance and policies which may include performance plan and or disciplinary action as it relates to sales or commercial delivery order entry.

  • Ensure customer service focus and manage expectations related to competing business priorities.

  • Continually identify opportunities to improve performance through automation or simplification.

  • Update and manage tracking of all work performed.

Support for all Circulation initiatives as it relates to system solutions. This includes, but is not limited to:


  • Act as a liaison for project and change requests while leading standard system maintenance and monitoring as appropriate.

  • Carefully validate all requests to safeguard data integrity prior to implementation into the Circulation Systems.

  • Enforce code and process standardization while maintaining data integrity of circulation, distribution, marketing, finance, reporting, and all downstream processes.

  • Provide a myriad of additional support functions as they relate to marketing, distribution and circulation needs, as well as, other related tasks.

  • Successfully work in a fast-paced and self-directed environment.

  • Excellent understanding of circulation, distribution and marketing facets of our current business model.

  • Perform premium related activities as needed.

  • Provide support for all audit related activities.

  • Ensure compliance for PCI related activities.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in system support, finance, and data analytics.

  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive leadership experience.

  • Must demonstrate strong coaching and managing skills for staff of 5 or more.

  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills, demonstrated analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to function in a self-directed work environment and prioritize based on impacts and deadlines.

  • Current knowledge or ability to develop knowledge of our varied circulation, distribution and reporting systems (e.g. DSI, MD.net, Syncronex, MG2, Oracle, Essbase, etc.)

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex subjects with all levels of management.

  • Must have impeccable integrity and work ethic.

Education:

  • BA/BS Degree in Business, a related discipline or 5 or more years of experience.
