Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Study competitors’ services and products.

  • Explore new ways of improving existing services and products.

  • Provide product training and technical expertise.

  • Determines customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed and working alongside the sales team.

  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.

  • Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.

  • Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.

  • Identify and present innovative product solutions.

  • Work with development leads so that product requirements are understood.

  • Work with project management software.

  • Coordinate product releases with marketing, sales, and development teams.

  • Answer product related inquiries.

  • Works with the product owners to map out and deliver on their requirements.

  • Works with the UX Team in order to design the appropriate solutions to fulfill business needs.

Responsibilities:


  • Take ownership over MarketPredict product within Scripps to improve customer satisfaction and grow revenue.

  • Own product development work of several software engineers.

  • Work cross-functionally with sales and customer success to ensure new business and customer happiness.

  • Deeply understand customer use cases and pain points.

  • Collaborate with business development, design, marketing, and other Scripps teams.

  • Identify new product opportunities and work together with engineering and design teams to see them through

Education, Experience, and Desired Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 3+ years’ experience as a product manager of a SaaS product.

  • Political Experience: at least 1 cycle spent at a national party committee, nationwide PAC organization, a tier-1 statewide campaign, tier-1 statewide PAC, or equivalent experience AND 2 or more cycles spent working in competitive down ballot races.

  • Permanent US work authorization.

  • Experience shipping complex software to real users.

  • Has worked closely with software engineers to deliver products.

  • Can formulate a product vision and can prioritize tasks to achieve it.

  • Embraces process and can identify ways to improve our processes.

  • US based and willing to travel to Washington, DC or Cincinnati on occasion.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Strong planning and organizing skills.

  • Negotiation skills in dealing with other project and development team members.

  • Ability to work effectively and independently.

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Agile development process knowledge (Scrum) is a plus.

  • Desired Experience Areas: Product Management, People Management, Understanding the Customer, Product Development, Requirements Analysis, Pricing, Planning, Competitive Analysis, Sales Planning, Inventory Control, Financial Planning and Strategy.
