Summary 

Epiq is a global third-party administrator of legal services. Design Operations is a highly technical cross-functional department involved with Epiq’s print and mail division. We handle large volumes of data and mailings for millions of recipients. Our work is deadline driven and often court ordered, requiring our team to quickly move between tasks and shift priorities. There are three divisions within our department: Design QA, Design Engineering, and the Workforce Team.  The Design QA Editor is a member of the Design QA Team in Design Operations. They play a vital role with their peers, Design Development Engineers and Workforce Specialists. 

 

Design QA Editors will primarily focus on production work but will also balance participation in special projects and training initiatives. They are responsible for reviewing data merges and document logic for dynamic mailings to verify output. They will leverage their knowledge of quality analysis techniques as well as developmental editing to be successful in this role. This role is responsible for discussing client needs and requirements with stakeholders as well as acting as a department representative. Design QA Editors will be working on various aspects of multiple projects simultaneously at the direction of our Workforce Team. Additionally, they will be expected to build relationships intra and interdepartmentally in a remote environment. 

 

Job Responsibilities  


  • Perform quality analysis on forms and designs from end to end, covering functional and technical requirements. 


  • Review data merges and document logic for dynamic mailings to verify content and technical requirements.  


  • Discuss client needs and requirements with various internal stakeholders and provide expertise regarding development processes. 


  • Consult and respond to client requests with knowledge of our departmental processes and offerings. 



  • Present technical material in an understandable manner to technical/non-technical audiences and decision-makers to aid them in their decisions. 


  • Participate in department special projects to improve internal processes. 


  • Participate in training initiatives.  


  • Appropriately escalate project roadblocks. 


  • Ensure compliance with postal regulations, barcodes, and technical requirements, such as: 



  • Color, 


  • Simplex/duplex, 


  • Orientation, 


  • Imposition, 


  • Inserter requirements, and 


  • Envelope specifications. 

 

Required Qualifications  


  • Bachelor’s degree in English or 2 years of comparable experience. 


  • 1 to 2 years hands-on experience with the following: 



  • Adobe Acrobat, 


  • Microsoft Office, 


  • Style guides,  


  • Technical requirements, 


  • Proofreading, line editing, copy editing, developmental editing, and fact checking, 



  • Maintaining accuracy over multiple iterations, 


  • Data analysis, research, and troubleshooting, 


  • Building relationships in a remote environment, 


  • Following regimented instructions while learning new software, 


  • Quality assurance of in-house products, and 


  • Agile and waterfall project methodologies. 


  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; able to adjust for intended audience. 


  • Proven demonstrated ability to work under a deadline 


Desired Qualifications 

Any hands-on experience with the following is not required but would be preferred:  


  • Project management software, such as Jira.  


  • Technical or development-related experience with SQL, Python, JavaScript, CSV or XML data.  #LI-DNI
