Job Summary:

The Escrow Operations Manager manages and coordinates operation/business strategies and activities related to escrow operations.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for an effective and efficient operation of the Escrow Department.

• Coordinate office workflow systems, incorporating use of data processing, including all phases of the escrow file, abiding by all laws, rules and regulations which apply to the business of escrow under the umbrella of title insurance.

• Hire, train and develop staff as it relates to escrow procedures, practices and policies.

• Interpret escrow policies and assist in the complicated transactions.

• Implement efficient process flow for the department, as needed.

• Conduct staff meetings on a regular basis.

• Confer with subordinate personnel to discuss operational problems or explain procedural changes or practices within the Department/Branch offices.

• Prepare work schedules and assign duties to personnel to ensure efficient operations of the Department/Branch offices.

• In the absence of an Escrow Officer/Processor, be available to assist with the daily functions of the unit.

• Audit escrow files on a monthly basis.

• Work in conjunction with the Title Department in resolving title issues.

• Help generate new business and maintain good public relations with existing customers. This may include attending business luncheons and seminars for business development purposes.

• When necessary, work closely with sales to help develop new business, maintain existing customers and work together to solve problems that may arise on escrow file.

• Work with Division President to achieve profitability of the Department.

Role Specific Knowledge:

• Licensed or accredited in any discipline as required by company requirement or legal/regulatory entity.

• Applicable business skills necessary to maximize and improve production, service and operational efficiency.

• Skill in building and managing teams.

• Thorough knowledge of transactional work and product/service standards and ability to apply standards in non-standard situations.

• Ability to operate within tight deadlines, have attention to detail and be self-motivated.

• Ability to apply company standards and applicable regularity and statutory requirements related to the functional area.

• Ability to lead, negotiates, make decisions and maintain good working relationships.

• Ability to identify problems and develop solutions of a moderately complex nature.

• Computer skills including working knowledge of excel spreadsheets, word processing and database software packages, internet applications and/or company specific computer applications.

Education, Licensure, and Experience:

• Completion of an undergraduate degree in an equivalent field is preferred.

• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in supervising operations which includes experience in the title industry.
