Experian Consumer Services is looking for a talented UX Research Manager. You will be a vital member and leader of the team responsible for the creation and optimization of Experian's consumer facing financial products. Your role is to compliment business strategies and aid in creating best-in-class user experiences through UX research. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners (UX/UI Designers, Product Managers, Consumer Insights, Data Analysts, and Developers) to research, create, implement and test engaging product experiences for our portfolio of responsive web and native mobile apps.

What you'll be doing


  • Manage a team of UX Researchers and contractors.
  • Develop and maintain a UXR program and roadmap.
  • Oversee the recruitment of users and oversee the moderation of regular weekly user testing sessions (using in-person and remote tools).
  • Guide the summarization and presentation of research findings for the broader cross-functional teams.
  • Understand qualitative and quantitative research data, business goals and requirements, and translate them into functional designs.
  • Synthesize research, market trends, competitive data, etc. into inform substantial successful online experiences.
  • Share feedback to optimize products by closely analyzing user engagement performance metrics and testing alternative design solutions.
  • Plan and organize cross-departmental user journey and persona exercises.
  • Coach and mentor UX research team members toward innovative and creative thinking when approaching research challenges.

What your background looks like


  • Portfolio demonstrating research required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in UX Research, UX Design, human factors, cognitive psychology, or similar.
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience in UX, research and optimization.
  • Experience designing and conducting survey research and usability research.
  • Understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process.
  • Proven ability to translate research findings into actiona¬¬ble product improvements.
  • Self-starter with project management skills.
  • Strong cross-discipline team player who can influence and work collaboratively with all team members.
  • Advocate for UX research and best practices (manage/facilitate/educate) within a company that is relatively new to UX research.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills; ability to organize and present information on screen and verbally with a team.
  • Creative problem solver with a positive attitude.
  • Attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a drive to answer complicated questions.
  • Ability to teach, provide positive constructive feedback, and motivate others.
  • Expert in UserTesting, Alpha and/or other UX research testing platforms.
  • Understanding and experience working within an Agile Development Process.
  • Understanding of A/B and multivariate testing and optimization a plus.
