Overall Purpose: Responsible for project management and development for large-scale instructional design projects at an expert skill level. Includes development of courseware for employees whose complex job tasks or environments include employee development, sales, customer service, product deployment and all technical functions at the company.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: This position includes project management of large projects, vendor or contractor management, and design and programming of training and performance tools delivered via both electronic and leader-led formats. Design, develop, customize, and/or maintain course materials. Works as a business expert identifying opportunities to partner with employees to support the organization's business goals and objectives. Leads the design and implementation of performance improvement projects/interventions. May design, develop and execute training programs in one or more of the following areas: leadership development, management development, change management, client satisfaction, interpersonal skills, team development, communication products and services. Collaborates with functional organizations to develop objectives for content of courses. Ensure that leadership performance courses are linked to the corporations leadership dimensions and incorporate relevant corporate messages. Orchestrates with/manage vendors to ensure quality, consistency, and relevance of vendor course materials, including modifying materials to fit the corporate culture. Evaluate effectiveness of potential additions to the leadership performance and other curriculum, including conducting pilot sessions and facilitating alternative delivery methods. Create a wide variety of written and electronic materials, including training courses, training proposals, business letters and memorandums to ensure quality written communication with clients and vendors. Project management of large design projects or project teams including oversight and management of vendors and contractors. Research and development of new technologies, development of standard templates, models and job aids for enterprise-wide multimedia training development. Acts as a Subject Matter Expert. In some cases may provide training or mentoring to less experienced staff, and may provide feedback for the evaluation of new staff.
Education: Typically Bachelors of Arts degree or Bachelors of Science degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
Experience: Typically 5 - 8 years of experience in a related field is preferred. Instructional Design is required.
Advanced Skills desired:
Supervisory: No, however in some cases may provide training or mentoring to less experienced staff.
