Big Ass Fans is seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Specialist with solid experience in all tactical aspects of payroll and benefits. This role will also have some HR generalist responsibilities to include employee relations and training. Key focus areas include hands-on processing of payroll, analysis, and reconciliation of payroll in a high volume, multi-location environment, managing vendor relationships, and developing and administering benefits and open enrollment. Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the preparation, analysis, and processing of bi-weekly, multi-state payroll for all salaried and hourly employees, totaling approximately 500.

  • Develop and refine payroll processes and calculations maximizing the use of our ADP HRIS as Big Ass Fans (BAF) continues to grow in size and complexity.

  • Analyze compensation programs, government regulations, and prevailing wage rates to develop competitive compensation plans.

  • Assist with administrative tasks to include timecard processing, time off requests, garnishment administration, and preparation of payroll-related reports, as needed.

  • Evaluate, design, and implement benefits programs to ensure that programs provide high-quality, cost-effective services for our employees.

  • Administration of benefits to include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401K, FSA, HSA, Dependent Care.

  • Manage all open enrollment activities.

  • Oversee HRIS and ensure effective utilization of the system.

  • Oversee timely filing of statutory reporting obligations and yearly audits.

  • Manage, maintain and oversee payroll and benefits vendor relationships.

 Requirements:


  • Associate degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Finance or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in payroll and HR systems.

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in benefits administration.

  • Previous experience using ADP Workforce Now HRIS required.

  • Solid benefits plan design and management experience. Global benefits knowledge a plus.

  • Exceptional skills in Excel, experience developing complex analysis with VLookup and pivot tables.

  • Strong analytical, business acumen, and interpersonal skills are necessary.

  • Ability to organize, process projects, and complete tasks in a timely manner.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must.
