About this role



Calling all New or Recent Graduates!

This is an exciting opportunity to join Newmont's 2 year rotationary Graduate Program! This is an entry-level information technology (IT) role. You will be assigned to work in several areas of technology and increase your knowledge to assist in the analysis, design, implementation, operation and technical support of one or more IT projects and functions. You will develop expertise and specialize in one or more of the above areas or function as IT Generalist prior to specializing in a specific technical area. You will be under the direction of more senior-level IT staff and complete a variety of developmental assignments in various IT functions with on-the-job training.

The four IT Business areas you will rotating across throughout the two years are:


  • Enterprise,Gov and Architecture

  • Cyber Security

  • Operational Technology Support

  • Project Management and Governance




Your role will consist of



Infrastructure, Operations and Cyber Security


  • Assisting teams in evaluation of applications for cloud migrations.

  • Performs background analysis through interviews and research; Develops system, application and workflow documentation.

  • Investigates and researches problems via online resources, technical materials and vendor support.

  • May be subject to call-in or required to respond on short notice to assist with IT related emergencies.

  • Contacts internal clients, co-workers and management, and must at all times act as a professional representative of the department.

Enterprise Business and Mining Systems


  • Participates in the development of specifications for projects.

  • Learns to analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, collaborate with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.

  • Participates in development of test plans through final acceptance testing;

  • Performs or assists with special projects and participates on project teams;

Project Management Office


  • Understand the Project Methodology, templates and processes applied to global IT projects.

  • Support IT project tools and solutions to drive to global transparency and consistency.

  • Contribute to the governance and communication of IT project execution and IT project quality reviews.

  • Assist with incorporating feedback from project team members for continual improvement. 

Contribution to the PMO area provides an opportunity for the candidate to develop an understanding of how projects are executed, prioritization of IT project activities, understanding accountability of managing project resources, financials and project success.  The PMO area works with all functions within the IT organization to provide governance, guidance and templates to ensure consistent quality execution.

Knowledge:


  • Completion of a bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university with major course work in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems Management or a closely related field.

Experience:


  • 0-1 years of experience in technology, finance, or engineering preferred but not required.

Skills and Abilities:


  • Motivated toward career growth and learning.

  • Interact effectively with a wide range of partners throughout the company.

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Power Point.

  • Use of personal computer software.

Working conditions and location



Where you will be located!


  • The position will sit in Denver, CO.

  • Willingness to put in extra hours as projects and priorities decide.

  • Flexible hours to accommodate global support times.

  • Travel may be required but is projected to be minimal.



The salary range offered for this role is $55,400 -72,700. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.   

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
