Position Summary

Ensure the FIP machines run to quality standards and meet all production goals.

Assure that all safety and housekeeping procedures are followed.

Report all quality and scrap issues to appropriate Supervisor / Manager as soon as possible.

 

Requirements 


  • Performing Mold Changes & Color Changes

  • Ensures 5S and housekeeping standards are met, maintains a clean and safe tool storage area

  • Creates and maintains a safe work environment

  • Maintains all tool change equipment and tools

  • Reports all damaged tool change equipment to the Technical Manager / Supervisor

  • Uses Crane in a safe manner

  • Wears all proper PPE as required

  • Follows all safety guidelines 

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds

  • Moving various resins, colorants and regrinds to designated areas in the molding department, grinding and storage areas by use of motorized lift trucks or hand trucks, ensure presses are running the correct resin and colorant and have sufficient amounts so that they will not run empty during production run.

  • Perform colorant and material changeovers – label blenders, grinders and storage containers accordingly.

  • Clean loader pump filters on mezzanines

  • Remove gates from secondary equipment catch drawers, when press is color changed.

  • Weigh and record scrap resin that is being removed to dumpsters (purge, contaminated, regrind, contaminated resin, contaminated parts, contaminated colorants, etc.


  • Responsible for keeping all machines producing quality product.

  • Stops the flow of production to correct quality issues and document any findings and/or adjustments on designated form(s).

  • Verifies process parameters.

  • Completes job change set up sheets.

  • Keeps machine and surrounding areas clean of oil and material.

  • Maintains a process log.

  • Works with the Quality department to improve process control.

  • Trouble-shoots processing problems including normal adjustments and checks.

  • Sets machines to process books.

  • Wears proper protective equipment as required.

  • Assures scrap issues are addressed and fixed in a timely manner.

  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Ensure that all accidents including first aid cases are reported.

Education / Experience 


  • High school diploma required

  • Prior experience in injection molding, setting molds and light processing required


  • Prior injection molding Process Tech experience or a minimum of one year as an A-Class Mold Setter required
