Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads and/or supports design activities for innovative new products while following established development processes and procedures.
Works effectively with members of a multidiscipline product development team including Mechanical, Test, Reliability, Systems, Safety, Software, and Verification Engineering,
Completes conceptual designs and trade studies to define design re-use in potential new products and assess the feasibility of meeting new requirements.
Completes high reliability focused detailed designs that incorporate design for test considerations and parts derating criteria to meet the functional and performance requirements of safety critical designs.
Develops circuit card hardware requirements, design documentation, block diagrams and power estimates for circuit card designs.
Prepares and leads circuit card design reviews.
Works closely with and provides direction to PCB Designers in the layout of boards ranging from 8 to 16 Layers of complexity.
Engages in hardware test debug, integration, qualification and verification activities.
Some travel may be required.
Preferred - Experience with signal integrity analysis tools (Hyperlynx Preferred)
Preferred - Experience with Mentor Graphics Xpedition tool suite (DxDesigner Schematic Capture)
Preferred - Experience using version control systems (Agile preferred)
Preferred - Experience in an Avionics environment
Preferred - Experience with EMI/EMC testing (DO-160 Preferred)
Preferred - Experience with designs incorporating Fiber Optic interfaces
Preferred - Experience with low voltage power supply design
Preferred - Experience with RF (Radio Frequency) design
Preferred - Experience with Analog Design
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering
Three or more years of digital circuit card design experience
Five or more years of total experience in the development of circuit cards including schematic generation, signal integrity and functional simulations, PCB layout, test plan generation, and integration & test
Five or more years of experience in operating laboratory equipment including digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, DC/AC power supplies, etc.
