ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT – CASUALTY SEGMENTATION

The Assistant Vice President, Casualty Segmentation, will lead and manage a team of claim professionals responsible for the triage, assignment, and segmentation of casualty claims.  This position will work closely with Casualty leaders and the Claims Process Improvement team to develop and execute workflow processes that efficiently and effectively route Casualty claims.  The role will be responsible for driving continuous improvement and optimization within the Casualty segmentation process.   The position is based in Jersey City, NJ.

 

KEY OBJECTIVE:


The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry as a claims professional with specific knowledge on segmenting Casualty claims in a fast and dynamic environment.  This individual will also be responsible for leveraging technology and automation tools within the segmentation process so that Casualty claims are efficiently routed to the right person with the right skill set for the claim. 

 

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:      


  • Experience in initial file handling requirements of claims administration, identifying issues in need of immediate processing, and managing claim professionals responsible for triage and segmentation of claims.

  • Managing  key decisions regarding segmentation of a Casualty claim and proven experience developing efficient and effective departmental routing rules to apply in those decisions.

  • Knowledge regarding litigation process and experience reviewing pleadings for content and data points.

  • Providing outstanding customer service.

  • Ability to work cross-functionality with other teams within the Chubb organization and effectuate change management.

  • Developing and championing automation and technology tools within the segmentation process that further enhance and improve the routing of Casualty claims to the right person with the right skill set for that claim. 

  • Build and develop organizational talent; identify and track success criteria and metrics. 

  • An ability to work independently and assimilate materials on many different subjects from various sources and systems.

  • Excellent organizational, writing, interpersonal communication skills.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


  • Bachelor's Degree required.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence internal and external business partners and customers.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • A hands-on management style and strong work ethic.

  • Ability to drive results as well as coach and mentor others.

  • Ability to stay organized and appropriately prioritize tasks in an efficient manner
