Summary

Manufacture components and sub-assemblies of HPT products as directed by Production Manager or other Supervisors. At entry level this role starts in one of the two production areas: fabrication and assembly. As a technician builds experience and skills he/she will be expected to work in both areas.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

This position has three levels that reflect the number of skills the technician possesses and demonstrates:

  • Operate turret punch and punch sheet metal
  • Bend sheet metal following engineering instructions
  • Operate and maintain tube cutter and hairpin bender
  • Operate and maintain header punch
  • Operate and maintain fin press
  • Assemble, pipe and expand all heat pipe products
  • Efficient and capable copper brazer
  • Assemble and pipe all heat pipe products
  • Vacuum and charge refrigeration circuits
  • EPA certification
  • Perform retrofits into air handling units either in HPT's factory or on a job site
  • Build wooden crates
  • Material handling, loading and unloading, driving forklift
  • Other duties as assigned

Level I (entry level) - score less than 20

Level II - scores 20-40

Level III - scores above 40

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School diploma
Experience: Entry level position with some experience in HVAC. Sheet metal knowledge is a plus. Machining and sheet metal experience preferred.

Certificates & Licenses - EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling certification license preferred.
