Overview
The Solution Architect, Business Applications develops solutions to support business objectives using standard architecture approaches and contributes to the organization's evolving business, data, application, and technical architecture. The solution architect translates functional requirements, business rules and processes into an architecture plan described through the creation of design artifacts. The architect will be expected to conduct architectural evaluation, design and analysis of existing and emerging business systems and provide solutions, recommend best practices and suggest strategic enhancements to enable changing business objectives.
Responsibilities
Maintain continuous familiarity with business strategy, product offerings and marketing methods to ensure appropriate solution alignment
Contribute to the system implementation requirements as needed and work with the PM and Dev teams to define solutions that meet those requirements
Work directly with IT development and project management teams to successfully deliver requested functionality and provide oversight to ensure adherence to defined architectural principles
Prepare and maintain appropriate solution design and architecture documentation for both technical and business stakeholder use
Create and maintain architecture standards and controls that ensure technology accountabilities for internal or vended solutions
Explore and recommend changes to future state through partnership with business leadership and Product Management
Participate in governance bodies/committees for technology decisions
Qualifications
BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Strong command of C# and the .NET Framework.
Must be self-motivated and able to work with little definition and supervision.
Able to work within a team in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with business applications development including ERP, CRM, accounting, databases, XML technologies and web services. (Ideally with Netsuite, Coupa, Successfactors, Salesforece, Visual Compiance and Billing Platform.
Experience with integrating and managing commercial software products to deliver standard operational business needs such as financial, legal and procurement systems
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Strong analytical, problem solving ability
Foundation in systems development: the solution architect should understand the system development life cycle; software project management approaches; and requirements, design, and test techniques.
Able to emphasize methodology, modeling, and governance.
Technologically and politically neutral.
Articulate, persuasive, and a good salesperson.
