Overview
The Managed Service Provider (MSP) Security Manager oversees day-to-day activities of the globally distributed Security team. The Security Manager partners with MSP product owners and other business units such as Legal, IT or Marketing, to manage risk and improve security across the MSP business.
Responsibilities
Supervise and mature program services and processes
Liaise with stakeholders, customers, partners and vendors
Experience in running product-centric incident response process
Provide guidance in planning and scoping Security Assurance engagements
Oversee security testing performed by internal team members and external partners
Compile relevant security metrics and deliver them to stakeholders and senior leadership
Oversee team member career development and training programs
Represent the organization as a Subject Matter Expert in security requirements.
Provide clear guidance to company employees and recommend modifications to operations policies and/or procedures as appropriate.
Develop, implement and maintain a Security Program. Monitor system security measures to ensure alignment with goals.
Advise on configuration management activities, including an assessment of modifications and/or vulnerabilities.
Develop and implement procedures for responding to security incidents and investigating and reporting security violations and incidents as appropriate.
Participate in security policy creation and reviews.
Collaborate with MSP personnel at others to monitor security incident response processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Security or related field with 12+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education/professional experience in a similar role
10+ years of Information Security experience
5+ years in security framework (NIST, OWASP, etc.)
4+ years in offensive security or similar roles
3+ years of managerial/leadership experience
3+ years security operations, including incident response
Proven experience in leading exceptional, highly skilled technical personnel
Understands adversarial techniques and industry trends
CISSP, CISM or other advanced security certifications, preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong presentation skills
Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration across organizations and geographies; builds relationships and values diverse perspectives
Ability to prioritize projects and deliverables
Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
Understanding of networking fundamentals and well-known protocols
Knowledge of common security technologies
Understanding of basic exploits, vulnerabilities, and attacks
