What do you get to do in this position?

To support Schneider Electric and the Group DPO Office in:

Assisting the Group Data Protection Officer in support to the Group on compliance with data privacy and protection rules in NAM, SAM and globally and in the management of privacy incidents

Building, maintaining and continuously improving the data privacy and protection compliance culture through prevention, detection and responses of compliance issues and deployment of the Group Data Privacy & Protection program.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the DPO Office, provide support to the DPO and to Schneider Electric Functions and country teams in NAM and SAM and globally and support transversal activities in:


  • All data protection matters arising within Schneider Electric;
  • The development and implementation of the Group Data Privacy & Protection program and countries' programs
  • Collaborating with Security, IT, Legal, Functional owners and other internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with data protection requirements, Schneider Electric BCR and company policies ;
  • Building necessary compliance steps, policies, guidelines, procedures, tools and templates;
  • Assessing internal applications and products and services offerings, including in DPIA;
  • Managing privacy incidents: process, incident response and investigation, data breach notification
  • Acting as point of contact on Data Privacy & Protection matters
  • Performing legal watch and supporting government affairs activities and implementation of new laws
  • Fostering a data protection culture within the Company and conducting data protection trainings;
  • Supporting country compliance projects
  • Coordinating Privacy networks in the region
  • Responding to law enforcement and regulators as needed
  • Leading or supporting transversal or cross-country activities and initiatives, e.g.:
  • Security and cybersecurity
  • M&A and integrations
  • Contracts
  • Training & awareness
  • Data localization and data transfers

This job might be for you if:


  • Integrity mind-set
  • Experience 5 years in data protection compliance and strategy within a technology company, a law firm, a consultancy firm or a data protection authority in NAM and SAM countries (USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Costa Rica )
  • Experience in dealing with security matters in privacy, data classification & discovery exercises, investigations, data breach management and notifications and privacy/ security assessments/audits
  • Relevant education or external accreditation in the areas of law, data protection, security, audit, quality or risk management
  • Technical background or solid privacy and security counseling experience
  • Skills: high-energy, positive, level of integrity & tenacity & team spirit. Technology driven. Good communication skills in multi-cultural environment. Good ability to network in various environments & matrix organization. Languages: fluent in English (written and spoken) another language
  • Ability to translate legal advice into actionable guidance for operational teams
