We are searching for an In Vivo Scientist II to join the Cell Therapy team within the Oncology Drug Discovery organization. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to support our expanding cell therapy pipeline. The primary responsibility of this position will be to work with internal colleagues and external CROs/partners to establish and utilize in vivo model systems to determine the efficacy and mechanism of action of novel cellular therapy products.
SCOPE
The successful candidate will contribute to study design and be responsible for independently driving and executing in vivo experiments, internally at Takeda or via external CROs/partners, to support optimization and validation of cell therapy products. Following completion, the candidate will be responsible for data analysis and interpretation, data presentation to key stakeholders, and play an active role in the subsequent discussions leading to decisions and next steps. The candidate will also be accountable for ensuring the quality of the data and complying with record keeping requirements.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Design and perform (and/or drive and manage execution via external partner) a wide range of assigned research experiments with a primary focus on in vivo anti-tumor efficacy and CK/MOA studies for drug candidates, in close collaboration with clinical and translational colleagues.
Perform standard and complex in vivo procedures, such as dosing all routes, tissue necropsy, and tumor inoculation and measurements.
Perform limited in vitro work such as standard cell culture to support tumor model development.
Candidate must be able work in a team environment, maintain experimental records, analyze data, and prepare study reports.
Candidate must be familiar with IACUC protocols and guidelines.
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
Ph.D. degree with 2+ years of experience. Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline, or equivalent with 10 + years of experience, or Master's degree in a scientific discipline, or equivalent with 8+ years of experience
Demonstrates broad technical program knowledge.
Identifies, plans and executes well defined scientific projects, as well as initiates, leads and manages similar projects established at external CROs/partners
Uses defined practices and theoretical knowledge to perform analysis, interpret results and determine appropriate action
Utilizes relevant information, technology and resources, contributing to complex team problem resolution and objectives
Prepares and presents comprehensive technical or project reports and formal presentations / posters to full range of internal/external audiences
