The Investment Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate and complete financial statements for assigned BH investment entities and BH Funds. The position must exhibit a strong commitment to the service needs of the internal and external customer and represent the company in a professional and courteous manner.

Essential Job Functions:


  • Coordinates and manages the general accounting function concerning the accuracy and maintenance of the ledger accounts and resulting financial statements for assigned entities and funds

  • Assists in timely preparation and review of quarterly investor statements

  • Assists outside tax and audit accounting firms and ownership with information requests as needed, including the timely preparation of Schedule K-1s

  • Supports the BHE Accounting Manager with the investor distribution process

  • Assists in the onboarding of new investment acquisitions into BH accounting system and provides support for the investment disposition process.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/Skills:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • Strong Microsoft EXCEL skills

  • Excellent attention to details and organizational/multi-tasking skills

  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines

  • Strong written and oral communications skills

  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people and customers and provide high level of customer service.

                                                                                                                                                                    

Desired Qualifications/Skills:


  • Previous accounting experience preferred; preferably within an investment or real estate setting

  • Advanced MS Excel skills

  • Yardi experience

Work Schedule:  8am-5pm, Monday-Friday, or as needed to meet business needs.
