Job Description:

The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act requires large, systemically important financial institutions such as JPMorgan Chase to submit Board-approved Resolution and Recovery Plans (a.k.a. Living Wills) to US regulators annually and upon the occurrence of material changes to the company. Recovery Plans demonstrate how the firm would recover if the firm were to experience significant decreases in capital and liquidity as a result of a severe, crisis event. Resolution Plans demonstrate how JPMorgan Chase would be resolved in an orderly way (i.e., without causing a major market disruption), in the event of significant distress. These plans are a strategic priority for the firm. This role, a part of the Firmwide Resolution and Recovery Program Office, supports Firmwide coordination and oversight of JPMorgan Chase's Resolution and Recovery planning efforts, liaising with lines of business and corporate functions to develop credible Resolution and Recovery plans and related financial analysis.

This role provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to obtain broad exposure across a variety of activities that support Resolution and Recovery planning on a Firmwide basis. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to partner with teams throughout the firm to support the development and delivery of the Firm's Resolution and Recovery plans, providing program management support and working closely with peers and management to support the development and delivery of strategic and tactical deliverables across the team. The ideal candidate will have approximately 3-5 years of experience in consulting, finance, accounting, program management or related fields with analytical experience, knowledge of project and program management practices, and experience producing high-quality, client facing deliverables (e.g., presentations, analysis summaries) in a complex matrixed environment. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provide program management leadership and support to the Firmwide Resolution and Recovery Program Office through assuming ownership for key processes that support development of the Firm's Resolution and Recovery Plans
  • Provide leadership and support to partners throughout the Firm through serving a single point of contact between the Firmwide Resolution and Recovery Program Office and assigned teams; liaise with key partners, manage issues and escalations as appropriate, and provide subject matter expertise to assigned teams as required
  • Partner with program leadership to support cross-team initiatives, developing knowledge and experience across the broad Resolution and Recovery program in order to contribute to key program-level deliverables
  • Assume ownership for cross-team processes, working across Resolution Planning, Recovery Planning, and Financial Analytics work streams to support common processes; identify process improvement opportunities in order to drive efficiency
  • Manage the preparation of materials (e.g., summaries, presentations, etc.) to support management presentations to key internal committees, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders by partnering with key stakeholders to develop presentation materials, refine materials for clarity and consistency, consider and integrate management feedback where appropriate
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of key deliverables through validating consistency of data and analysis, performing periodic quality reviews to ensure deliverable quality, and engaging with quality assurance and internal audit teams as required
  • Develop an understanding of Resolution and Recovery planning processes, with particular focus on developing an understanding of the "big picture" and how Resolution and Recovery planning concepts are interconnected across the firm; maintain knowledge of current regulatory requirements, Firm Resolution strategies, and evolving requirements
  • Assuming additional responsibilities as required

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working in program-based environments and an ability to leverage project and program management practices to support overall Firmwide Resolution and Recovery Planning initiatives. Experience as a project or program manager a plus
  • Knowledge of and experience with program management processes and tools. Experience with Wdesk, Clarity, SharePoint, and/or Excel data analysis tools (macros, pivot tables, etc.) or other data analysis tools a plus
  • Ability to support management in development of high-quality, executive and tactical deliverables such as presentations, executive summaries, and related materials. Significant presentation development skills including experience creating high-quality presentation content for senior audiences and conveying succinct analysis and conclusions in presentation materials
  • Strong ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships and influence across a broad organizational landscape in order to ensure alignment of teams to program objectives
  • Ability to take ownership for assigned deliverables and to proactively manage deliverables to timely completion (escalating when appropriate) in order to ensure objectives are met
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to proactively ask questions and seek feedback on deliverables as required
  • Excellent written communication skills and experience required
  • Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills including the ability to manipulate large amounts of data, the ability to leverage Excel features such as pivot tables and macros to analyze and summarize data, and the ability to clearly draw appropriate conclusions and present findings from data analysis is a plus
