The Senior Technical Writer will join the Digital Connect Domain and deliver developer facing technical content including guides, specifications, and product details. This hands-on, thought leadership role will require working with a team of talented payment experts, field partners and software engineers to reshape the developer experience and clearly document product offerings. Success will be highly correlated with strong collaborative and influencing abilities across a highly matrixed environment. The ideal candidate possesses the perfect blend of developer-thinking and technical writing acumen.

Responsibilities:


  • Be a steward of the client experience leading the delivery of efficient, effective and client obsessed solutions.
  • Build a strategy to improve the technical content which supports Merchant Services clients, software integrators, and internal business partners.
  • Possess a developer-centric vision for how integration documentation should be organized and presented in a modern payments first API storefront.
  • Unravel complex designs and bring order from chaos; reduce complexity making complex APIs easy to navigate and consume.
  • Collaborate with a team comprised of Product Managers, Technologists, and Operations to document payments products for new and existing technical specifications.
  • Balance multiple assignments and priorities, resolving gaps and concerns, while meeting delivery timelines.
  • Organize and curate requirements to create concise, well-written specifications. Adhere to technical writing standards.
  • Support all controls and compliance requirements and ensure that all pre and post launch conditions are met in order to release documentation on time.
  • Create and deliver experiences that delight and positively influence both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required. Technical Writing certification or computer science background preferred.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of technical writing experience, preferably in the payments industry for print or online consumption.
  • Detail orientated, able to communicate the same message in multiple ways and understand which method is ideal for each situation.
  • Experience with technical authoring tools such as Oxygen, XMetaL, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe RoboHelp and content management solutions such as Adobe Enterprise Manager or GitHub .
  • Experience with markup languages such as DITA, HTML, XML, CSS.
  • Experience with design and diagramming applications like Microsoft Visio and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Familiarity with technical writing standards and style guides.
  • Experience using collaborative online products such as Confluence or SharePoint.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word and PowerPoint as well as Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Strong conversational knowledge of technology principles, including APIs, Swagger, SDKs, authentication, programming languages and version control.
  • Passionate about technical writing as a career and energized by a fast paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication, writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong organization and time management.
  • General business acumen with a preference for payments or fintech.
  • Capable of building relationships and collaborating across the organization. Excellent team player.
