About the Class

This class is an intense, 21-day course designed to help dedicated and compassionate people succeed in completing the Tennessee Nurse Aide Training program.

Cost

This is a FREE course provided by NHC Oak Ridge, but you will have to bring $30 to the information session to purchase scrubs for clinical rotations.

Prerequisites

We will run a criminal background check as well as consult the Tennessee and/or National Abuse Registry for Children and Adults. No one with a felony conviction, certain misdemeanor charges, and/or found on the abuse registry can be admitted to the class.

Class Requirements

Since the class is only 21 days, no absences or tardies are permitted. You must maintain a grade average of an 85 to successfully complete this course.

You can wear modest street clothes to class. Scrubs will be required for the clinical rotation part of the class.

Students must have the following items to participate in the class:

• Uniform $30.00 (Purchase from the facility)


• Wrist watch with a second hand


• Highlighter, spiral notebook (letter size), black and red pen


• Clean athletic/nursing shoes

Employment Opportunities

May be available upon successful completion of the course, but is not required to complete the course.
