Adams Place is looking for an enthusiastic, self motivated Recreation Director to join our team.
GENERAL PURPOSE
This position is responsible for planning, supervising and maintaining recreation programs for patients. Also responsible for coordinating the volunteer program.

Administrator
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy or other related fields preferred.
Certified by NCCAP as an Activity Professional Certified (APC), Activity Director Certified (ADC), or Activity Consultant Certified (ACC) preferred.
Ability to work with elderly patients
Genuine enthusiasm
A self-motivated, creative and positive personality
Willingness to learn new ideas and skills
Sense of humor; ability to laugh at success and failure
Ability to work with partners, family members, and community
Possess patience, good organizational skills, assertiveness and be aconscientious person
Present a professional appearance
Be flexible in working hours so that weekend or evening events may be provided
Ability to supervise others in a firm, fair, and consistent manner.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Able to lift 60 to 70 pounds occasionally
Able to be on feet 2-5 hours a day
Be able to move throughout center without assistance
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assess each individual patient to determine activity interests and needs.
Provide therapeutic activities which meet the individual interests and needs of each patient.
Provide activities which meet the physical, social, mental, emotional, and/or spiritual needs of patients while providing an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment.
Maintain all required records (see Recreation Manual).
Coordinate and maintain an active volunteer program.
Maintain good public relations with the community by contacting and informing local clubs, businesses, schools, etc. of center services and goals.
Order and maintain supplies for use in the Activity Program.
Participate in center newsletter.
Participate in fund-raising projects.
Plan and conduct in-service programs for staff at least twice per year as needed.
Attend center meetings as required.
Be aware of NHC standards and abide by the 20 Better Way promises.
Be aware of and follow all state, federal, company and center policies and procedures.
Keep Administrator informed of planned activities, problems and suggested solutions.
Supervise Recreation Coordinators/Assistants.
