Golder is seeking a GraduateEngineer to join our Mount Laurel, New Jersey office on a full-time basis. We are seeking either recent graduates or those with a few years of engineering-related experience. The successful candidate will join a team who provides engineering services to a range of clients with a focus on environmental site remediation, water/wastewater treatment systems, environmental compliance, and landfill operation/closure.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
Performing engineering design calculations and modeling, including stormwater hydrology and hydraulics, pump and piping selection, wastewater treatment, and cover/liner systems
Assisting with the preparation of engineering reports, cost estimates, permit documents, design drawings & specifications, bid documents, and proposals with senior technical mentoring and review
Conducting field assignments to support project specific data collection requirements, including site reconnaissance, engineering data collection/measurements, operation and maintenance of remediation/treatment systems, borehole/test pit logging, soil/groundwater/surface water sample collection, and construction quality assurance (CQA) monitoring
Reviewing and responding to contractor submittals for consistency with construction documents and regulations
Being willing and able to work on projects involving contaminated sites, operating manufacturing facilities, treatment plants, and landfills
Working with an in-house team of cross-discipline engineers/scientists and on-site contractors with minimal supervision
Safely perform work in the office and field; fieldwork may occur out-of-town in all seasonal weather conditions, using equipment (with an ability to lift and move approximately 50 pounds without assistance) and operating vehicles on behalf of the company
Local and national travel (up to 25% of the time) with possible opportunities for long-term assignments at project sites
Required:
Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or a related engineering field
Good verbal and written communication skills combined with strong analytical abilities and a positive attitude
Willingness to work on projects across business sectors, performing a variety of tasks, sometimes on short notice
Computer skills and experience with industry standard commercial computer software including Microsoft Office
EIT certification or ability to obtain EIT within two years
Desired:
Master's degree in civil, environmental, or a related engineering field
Prior experience, including internships, on engineering-related projects
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is required on some sites; preferential consideration for candidates with this training
Experience and proficiency with AutoCAD and other engineering software
