Your day to day

The Rest Easy Supervisor supervises the safety, cleanliness & upkeep of guest rooms and common areas by running the housekeeping program, preventative maintenance program, and laundry operations.  This role involves performing minor repairs, engaging, and developing the environmental services colleagues, as well as supervising laundry operations, preventative maintenance program and maintenance and equipment service contracts.   This role ensures compliance with all brand and federal, state, and/or local regulatory and inspection requirements as well as supervision and inspection of the work of assigned room and/or public area attendants to ensure product quality standards are met.

Inspects guest rooms, public areas, furnishings, linens, and equipment to ensure all areas of the hotel are clean and in good repair, bringing to life the EVEN Hotels brand.

Inspects storage rooms and room attendant carts for neatness, cleanliness, adequate supplies, and good repair.

Controls expenses and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping and maintenance.  

Completes all paperwork and closing duties such as filling out supply requisitions, maintenance request forms, and updating logbooks, etc.

Supervises inventory of supplies, parts, and equipment efficiently to minimizing waste, achieve cost per room goals for supplies and labor.

Supervises assigned renovation projects, monitors service contract performance, and ensures timely completion of projects within budget.

Assists in the attraction and hiring of people with the right attributes to bring the EVEN Hotels brand to life.

Actively promotes employee participation in the Employee Satisfaction Pulse Survey (ESPS) and achieves established ESPS targets.  

Drives high team performance by establishing clear performance goals and expectations, and being actively involved in direct reports’ performance and development through direct feedback, coaching and training 

Leverages the skills of the team and other departments to enhance the guest experience.  

Ensures guest complaints are resolved appropriately and that appropriate service recovery/problem resolution process is in place for Engineering and Housekeeping Services.  

Brings “rest easy” to life e.g. ensures Rest Easy Attendants leaves “clean messaging” in the guest rooms - a cleaning checklist and cleaning cue cards, which are placed in high cleanliness sensitive areas after each cleaning.

Writes message of the day and a personal note on the white board in the guest room for all VIP guests (Including IHG Rewards Gold and Platinum). Message must be positive or encouraging in tone and may include information about the activities planned at the hotel or in the community. 

Ensures a safe and secure environment by manages risk exposure to guests, colleagues, assets, etc. through developing a team that is fully trained on risk procedures/policies, and fully compliant.  

Promotes and drives engagement in Green Engage, Shelter in A Storm and IHG Academy.

What we need from you

High School Diploma or equivalent plus 1-2 years housekeeping experience, preferably in a hotel of similar size and complexity, including some supervisory training/experience.  Must speak fluent English.  

This job requires ability to perform the following:

Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing and or pulling approximately 200 pounds

Frequently standing up and moving about the facility

Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility

Frequently bending, stooping, and kneeling

Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests and employees.

Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when compiling departmental records, logs, or paperwork.

Basic mathematical skills are used occasionally. 

May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
