Position Description:

Reporting to the Vice President and General Manager of the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Division, the Vice President of Supply Chain & Operational Excellence is a critical role for a strategic leader with a desire to grow professionally within AMETEK. This individual is responsible for driving global sourcing, working capital improvement, and OpEx strategies and initiatives across the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Division. This individual will partner with our global businesses in the U.S., U.K., France and Singapore to implement supply chain and operational excellence models that optimize and enhance operating results across the division to meet and exceed budget requirements. S/he will be responsible for developing and evaluating initiatives that impact inventory, OpEx, material cost reduction, and efficiency improvement throughout our facilities. This role collaborates with multiple businesses to ensure project objectives are strategic, fit the AMETEK model, and are executed on budget and on time. This highly visible individual will provide ongoing, regular communication with leadership teams on supply chain and operational excellence initiatives.

Essential Duties:

• Implement innovative solutions to address Division goals. Utilize team building and collaboration skills to manage the activities of people and systems involved in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, inventory management and reduction, and operational excellence activities.

• Develop and implement key initiatives to achieve material cost savings: Drives annual year over year material and operational cost savings to be reviewed as a percent of savings to total sales and spend.

• Lead regular strategy deployment and KPI reviews for the various manufacturing sites and management ensuring attainment of results and a sense of urgency with respect to the strategic implementation priorities.

• Standardize best practices across the MRO Division, deploying and ensuring compliance with standardized practices

• Act as a mentor, partner and coach to multiple locations in a global, highly decentralized environment while balancing the strategic priorities with the tactical day-to-day priorities.

• Partner with businesses to reduce turn-around times and optimize margins. Reduce working capital through the multiple levers available including ABC analysis, VMI, Kanban, decreased lead time, lot size, vendor QDCCT management and contract negotiation and volume of inventory.

• Forecast procurement costs on an annual, quarterly, and monthly basis. Actively and effectively provide input costs support for the annual budget process.

• Support, attend, and present as needed in Executive level annual Strategy, ROR and Budget meetings.

• Develop, implement, and leverage a repeatable, disciplined system to implement best practice vendor agreements organization-wide, focusing on total organization cost effectiveness, enhanced service levels, improved coordination, and risk management.

• Facilitate and drive regular Kaizen events to identify waste, create sustainable solutions and execute cost reduction and WC improvement action plans and implementation.

• Partners with MRO businesses to facilitate and mentor lean adoption and visual management systems.

• In cooperation with operating departments and quality control departments, manage supplier performance to meet all quality and delivery requirements.

Position Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 10 years of management-level experience in operations management, Supply Chain, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Experience:

• Deep experience in an MRP/ERP system environment

• Substantial experience in operational excellence and lean manufacturing to include continuous improvement projects and processes.

• Deep knowledge of and experience in Lean, Six Sigma, operations, cost analysis and inventory management

• Strong Kaizen skills and ability to lead and mentor others.

• Logistics/supply chain management experience in large corporations with diverse operational units in multiple locations

• Familiarity with assigned vendor inventory and contract management systems including experience implementing such systems.

• Global supply chain experience, to include low-cost region supply base and plant locations.

• Must have experience working with the supply base of mechanical components, preferably in the aerospace industry

• Strong leadership skills, including the ability to establish credibility quickly and influence without direct report authority

• Strategic, self-starter with the confidence and desire to grow professionally

• Detail-oriented individual with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization (verbal, written, presentation)

• Data-driven and flexible individual with demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and lead/manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills

• Proven leadership ability to influence, develop, and empower employees to achieve objectives with a team approach.

• Superior written and verbal communications, decision making, problem-solving, and organizational skills essential.

• Timely decision maker, able to prioritize critical tasks that add the highest value.

• Unquestioned integrity and personal values.

• Experience presenting to corporate executive team a must.
