Job Title: Associate Director, Investor Relations

Position Summary: 
Seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Associate Director with experience in cross-functional communications, financial modelling and analysis to join our Investor Relations team. The candidate must have a strong understanding of financial modelling, data and valuation analysis. The candidate should have at least five years of experience in strategic finance and SEC reporting and compliance.

The Associate Director of Investor Relations will help build and execute Illumina’s investor relations strategy with the goal of building strong and durable investment community relationships to reinforce the company’s positive reputation among investors and analysts.  Reporting to the Vice President of Investor Relations, this position will closely collaborate with the management team and cross-functional business partners to prepare timely and accurate external communications for the investor community, as well as internal communications about the IR team.

Responsibilities:
•    In collaboration with management, develop and implement the company’s investor relations strategy to effectively convey the company's vision and strategy for delivering shareholder value.
•    In collaboration with the VP of IR, help execute a robust investor relations strategy, including preparing for regular buy-side and sell-side engagement activities, including investor conferences, non-deal roadshows and expert calls. Draft and develop Q&A to support those activities.
•    Analyze and present peer group data analysis, competitive landscape and shareholder targeting information.
•    Support major investor conferences, analyst meetings and other proactive outreach activities to consistently improve the company’s visibility among investors.
•    Provide proactive data on stock market activity and present insights and recommendations to the VP of IR, CFO and executive leadership team.
•    Partner with the VP of Investor Relations, prepare and manage quarterly earnings calls, follow up investor calls and related corporate presentations and Board updates.
•    Partner with the Legal and Finance departments to ensure compliance and help prepare related company filings including quarterly and annual SEC filings. Support strategic Finance and M&A activities as needed.
•    Partner with Illumina’s Communications team to review and provide input to proposed external communications, such as press releases, article and website content.
•    Prepare bi-monthly IR Update for internal Workplace communication

Requirements:
•    5+ years' experience in a strategic finance role.
•    Experience with financial modeling and valuation methods used by analysts and investors.
•    Strong financial analysis skills and attention to detail, and adept at clearly communicating key financial information and insights.
•    Excellent communications capabilities, both verbal and written, and leadership skills.
•    Adept in Excel, Powerpoint and other investor relations tools and databases.
•    Strong understanding of SEC laws and securities disclosure requirements and filing requirements; strong understanding of the capital markets.
•    Strong relationship-builder; proactive in addressing issues and resolving matters quickly.
•    Builder of internal, as well as external, partnerships and collaboration.
•    A combination of personality traits including high integrity, honesty, collaborative and professionalism.

Education:
•    Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting; MBA preferred.

Travel (Post Pandemic):
•    10% to 25%
