POSITION SUMMARY The SEC Financial Analyst II is primarily responsible for serving as a business partner to support the Company's quarterly and annual SEC compliance and financial reporting and providing assistance in researching specialized accounting and reporting projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent works under the direct supervision of the SEC Reporting Manager and works closely with the Director of SEC Reporting and Group Controllers, with exposure to the Executive Management team.
Learning and understanding Dentsply Sirona's global reporting structure. The Company's reporting structure is complex, operating in diverse geographies and with numerous differences between the legal entities reported in the consolidation and the profit centers reviewed by management.
Assisting the SEC Reporting Manager in preparing the quarterly and annual SEC compliance and financial reporting by the deadlines. This includes preparation of the financial statements, the footnote disclosures and accompanied support, the consolidated statement of cash flows and supporting schedules, as well as special reporting for significant transactions including business combinations.
The incumbent is responsible for periodically researching the accounting for specific transactions. This requires the preparation of accounting memos and presentations to senior management on current or proposed transactions, and updates to corporate policies.
Responsible for the accurate preparation and accounting for several areas related to the Company's equity-based transactions.
Responsible for preparation and control of schedules detailing stock options granted, exercised, and forfeited, schedules detailing deferred compensation (e.g. NQSO's, RSU's), and schedules detailing outstanding shares and treasury shares.
Assist in preparation of allocations and reporting for segment reporting
Maintains schedules over specific inventory calculations such as the intercompany profit in inventory calculation and the LIFO pool calculations and related entries.
Update and maintain the Company's global lease portfolio within a lease software system on a monthly basis. Publish required quarterly reporting. Work with the Company's locations throughout the world to resolve accounting issues.
Proactively recommending ways to continuously improve the internal processes within the SEC Reporting group. This includes participating in process improvement initiatives, initiating open dialogue with Senior Management and working with other functions within the Finance group in order to create efficiencies and streamline processes and procedures.
Support the SEC Reporting Manager in providing financial support to other Corporate functions in strategic initiatives and analyses. The incumbent will participate in the development of financial models to bolster analysis and participate in strategic project teams as needed. Requires regular interaction with key organization stakeholders and management.
Being well organized and prepared to report information to Senior Management in a timely manner. Reports and analyses must be completed in a relatively short period of time in order to provide Senior Management with timely information.
TYPICAL BACKGROUND
Bachelor's degree (B. A./B. S.) in accounting from a four-year college or university. The incumbent should have a working knowledge of GAAP that can be applied to the job responsibilities.
Candidates currently possessing or pursuing a CPA or CMA certification are preferred.
Minimum of 5+ years relevant work experience in accounting, preferably in public accounting.
Prior experience with the Oracle Hyperion suite of applications is highly desirable.
