Position Summary:

Under close direction of senior research staff, conducts activities to support research projects.

Position will perform animal colony management. Breeding the large number of transgenic mice needed will require a great amount of a research assistant's time. The RA will perform PCR and spend a tremendous amount of time in weaning, individual identification of each mouse, tail snipping, sample preparation and record keeping.

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds constantly and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
