Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries (MMBSI) group within the Commercial Bank (CB) focuses on companies with annual revenue of $20 million to $500 million, municipalities, and not-for-profit entities requiring traditional banking services (lending and cash management) as well as investment banking products (including debt and equity capital markets, risk management derivatives, and corporate finance advisory). Job Description

We are looking for a Business Management leader who will report to the Head of Sales Enablement & Analytics and be responsible for driving the business management agenda for MMBSI's core business segments. This role will provide strategic and tactical leadership for key processes to help execute business development and sales management needs. He or she will work across the business extensively and must demonstrate the ability to effectively navigate within a matrixed environment. The ideal candidate has experience with finance business models, business strategy, and possesses both strong analytical skills and interpersonal skills, to support the refinement and implementation of the business's strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Operations and Strategic Planning


  • Provide strategic planning and business development support for Core business leadership that is responsive to evolving market and organizational conditions
  • Work closely with the CFO and MMBSI leadership team to conduct periodic strategy sessions and business reviews
  • Leverage CB investments in CRM and other solutions to drive operational needs for banking and treasury officers
  • Manage a large portfolio of initiatives across MMBSI's Core business. Partner with key business, technology and functional partners to drive and track progress these key initiatives.
  • Synthesize, organize and connect the portfolio of operational effort to business outcomes.

Communications

  • Prepare presentations and executive material for various senior executive audiences, including the CFO, CEO and other senior leaders in MMBSI and across the CB
  • Work closely with Finance, Reporting & Analytics, and other functional teams to develop best-in-class materials that tell a compelling, data-driven story
  • Support planning and delivery of key internal meetings e.g., Townhall, Quarterly Business Reviews, Leadership updates etc.

Team Performance

  • Lead evolving team of project and business managers aligned to senior and regional leaders
  • Organize team into well-defined workstreams, deliverables and measurable outcomes that enable a high level of service for business partners and key stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years relevant work experience in business management or sales operations functions; familiarity with Commercial Banking a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, partner with, and influence stakeholders across multiple functional areas and lines of business
  • Proven strategic thinker with sound financial acumen, analytical ability, strong operational focus, and proven ability to execute
  • Exceptional communication skills, with executive-level presentation skills and an ability to interface easily with senior leadership and "tell the story"
  • Experience with various project management methodologies; training and certification in these areas a plus
  • Proven ability to lead a team and develop junior/senior resources in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Experience with SalesForce or other leading CRM solutions to drive sales operations a plus
  • BA/BS degree required: MBA preferred
