Commercial Bank - Event Strategy Specialist - Associate

Delivering world class events for our clients and prospects is a strategic priority for the CB Client Engagement and Events team. We are seeking an associate who will support the Local, proprietary event strategy across Middle Market Banking and Specialized Industries. The position will support a team of Event Strategy Managers across the Northeast, Midwest and Southeast segments. The associate will work on multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on tracking and oversight of tactical execution of Local proprietary events in the defined segments as well as the management of self serve resources for local, banker-managed events. The associate will also manage full team budget and consolidate event results reporting for team and Head of MMBSI Client Engagement & Events.
Responsibilities:
Strategy and planning
Understands business objectives and support the MMBSI Client Engagement & Events team on strategic development of holistic proprietary event programming with a focus on Local events; assist with annual planning activity (competitive research, planning decks, budget)
Oversees the Local proprietary events plan for identified business segments
Consolidates and shares Local event best practices and suggests strategic ideas to drive national consistency that map to business goals
Meets regularly with the Field to activate Local, agreed-upon event plans to ensure quality and consistency
Meets with the Field as needed post-event to discuss results and make future recommendations
Works closely with Event Strategy Managers and Conference & Sponsorship Specialists to coordinate joint planning/discussions with Field to provide holistic approach on events and sponsorships
Flags new requests for Event Strategy Manager approval
Resource development and training
Develops and maintains event resources for local field engagement activities including "event in a box" templates, digital marketing/event assets (MarComm Central), discussion guides
Coordinates training sessions for admin population on new resources
Creates "speaker bureau" of topics / speakers for Local events
Tracking and oversight of execution of Local events
Liaison between the Field/Admins, Marketing and Event Production teams
Manages and tracks overall Local budgets as part of holistic Segment budgets
Updates Event Tracker/Budget and other master calendars as Local activity evolves
Uploads metrics / attendee reports post-event to Salesforce and team Event Tracker/Budget (Shares with Production for GEM update)
Maintains post event scorecards outlining key metrics and KPIs on select Local events; assists in the development of scorecards for Signature events
Budget/project management
Manages full team budget with a strong emphasis on data integrity, file manipulation and rollups, reporting and budget communication/support
Shares updates regularly with full team and finance
Other
Provides support to Event Strategy Managers on Signature events as needed / available (may play a lead role on select signature events) including internal comms; invitee selection; nomination campaign development; business case and event/creative brief development; briefing templates; pre- and post- event client comms (email, digital, social)
Provides onsite support at select Local, Signature and National/Marquee events
Provides project management of team priority projects and national events as assigned
Assists other team ad hoc requests for data management, RSVPs, on site staffing
Maintains dashboards to help analyze and report on success metrics for all MMBSI proprietary events; partner with Event Strategy Managers to ensure data is kept up to date; proactively share reporting with Managers & Head of MMBSI Client Engagement & Events
Skills required
3-5 years of experience in marketing and events
Bachelor's degree required; Financial services experience is a plus
Historical experience in developing and managing budgets
Excellent/advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills
Strong ability to navigate and analyze complex data
Demonstrated track record of being a flexible team player who is able to adapt to changing priorities and willing to help on ad hoc projects. Must be able to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
Operates with a sense of personal accountability; demonstrates a strong work ethic and high level of professionalism, integrity and judgement
Enthusiastic, proactive, self-starter/ self-motivated, self-sufficient, and resourceful
Strong ability to prioritize tasks and communicate clearly across a variety of stakeholders and personalities
Ability to work early morning and late evening events. Limited travel required.
