Job Description:

As part of our team of specialists, the Lending Advisor is an expert on advising clients on their capital structure. The Lending Advisor provides credit solutions tailored to clients' needs and circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong sales leadership required to grow our loan book, including:

o Participation in pitches to both existing and new PB clients

o Acting as internal sales leader for the credit product, liaising with Market Managers, Bankers and Investors to ensure credit is a core part of the JP Morgan offering

o Identifying new business opportunities through amongst other things:

§ Systematically analyzing the book of existing clients to identify new potential opportunities

§ Creating ideas/opportunities to leverage across Capital Advisory by sharing success stories/ideas with other Lending Advisors and with clients

o Maintaining an ongoing dialogue with existing borrowing clients

o Leading the credit marketing effort for the local market teams

• Advise, negotiate and execute loan structures:

o Structure solutions to client financing needs within acceptable risk parameters and in accordance with policies and regulations

o Perform client due diligence

o Negotiate legal documentation and pricing

o Maintain a quality credit book with active client dialogue and escalation of candidates promptly. Follow up on all client-related credit issues (e.g., missed margin calls, legal documentation, etc.).

• Ensure transactions are conducted within regulatory guidelines

• Drive the Mortgage solution in the market working closely with the Mortgage Advisors

• Using your thorough knowledge of the JP Morgan Credit Risk Underwriting Policy & Guidelines, liaise closely with Credit Risk to ensure the best outcome for the client in terms of the underwriting of the client.

Qualifications

• Experience and proven success with banking concepts including, but not limited to: marketable secured lending, investment real estate loans, concentrated collateral loans, aircraft lending, owner-occupied commercial real estate and bridge loans

• Knowledge of capital markets and the macro interest rate environment

• Sales experience including: profiling, overcoming objections, negotiation, team selling approach, closing the sale and asking for referrals

• Knowledge of account maintenance procedures, loan closing procedures, credit administration and compliance procedures

• Ability to understand wealth management including, but not limited to: investing, trust and financial planning

• High level of analytical skills, including financial analysis

• Ability to identify and analyze credit opportunities and the attendant credit risks

• Familiarity and expertise with credit documentation

• Ability to maintain a balance between marketing and credit risk roles

• Expertise in credit and derivatives transactions

Requirements

• Bachelor degree; MBA will be considered an asset

• Minimum 5+ years credit risk experience ideally in the financial services industry

• In-depth knowledge of bank loan, deposit, mortgage and credit products

• Client facing
