VP of Learning & Cultural Enrichment at Ent Credit Union

Job Description:

The VP, Learning and Cultural Enrichment (VPLCE) is focused on the vision and strategy as well as the efficiency and effectiveness of employee learning. The planning, management, and delivery of this learning is the heart of Ent University (EU) and the VPLCE will continue to guide the development and refinement of this innovative learning program.


The VPLCE oversees three critical areas that drive fulfillment of EU:



  1. Learning Innovation and Cultural Enrichment Programming

  2. Instructional Design and Delivery

  3. Career Planning

The VPLCE sets the vision of Learning Innovation based on the strategic goals of the organization and knowledge of emerging trends / best practices.  This individual acts as the decision maker on build or buy curriculum to fill identified gaps.  The VPLCE is expected to build and maintain strong vendor partnerships with organizations that have developed quality learning and development courses, workshops, and schools.  


The VPLCE sets the strategic vision and delivery expectations of the Instruction: planning, creating, and delivering in house trainings.  Courses built in-house are created per Ent’s culture, learning philosophies and corporate strategies.  An important facet of these courses is the relentless pursuit of feedback so they can be modified and updated as needed.  Meticulous attention is placed on the course applicability and their creative design and delivery that succeed in helping staff develop as individuals and team members.  


The VPLCE sets the vision and champions collaboration between the Learning Innovation and Instructional Design teams. This collaboration is imperative as design innovation, along with easy accessibility of course offerings and delivery channel options, foster employee engagement. Cross-functionally, these efforts also must be closely aligned to enable development and delivery of culture enrichment programs that affect multiple facets of the entire Development area of Ent.   


Finally, the VPLCE drives the vision and execution of a robust staff career planning apparatus which involves assessments, mentoring, and specific career progression initiatives.  Key in this role is managing the many facets of helping staff develop in their current position/department, transitioning to other departments, or even developing into further leadership roles. 


Collaboration with business units, Instructional Design / Delivery, and Learning Innovation is key to the execution of coaching and mentor training for all leaders. New leaders learning to effectively coach staff and tenured leaders enhancing existing coaching skills with industry best practices is of paramount importance to help staff achieve their career dreams.   Assessment tools are continually monitored and evaluated to determine their effectiveness in assisting leaders understand strengths and competencies of their staff.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:


Inter-Departmental Collaboration / Alignment:



  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, Ent leadership and external partners.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of all facets of learning needs and gain buy-in of courses developed including delivery methodology.

  • Lead a taskforce that enhances cultural enrichment ideation and course creation between business partners, workforce strategy and instructional design areas.     

Set Vision and Accountability for Employee Experience with Learning and Cultural Enrichment Programs:



  • Ensure that the inventory of learning programs is up to date and easily navigable.

  • Identify gaps in course materials, collaborate with instructional design area, and work to fill gaps with new external materials and/or partners.

  • Innovate and implement programs focused on enhancing and cultivating Ent’s cultural pillars and values

  • Acquire and maintain external partner relationships for curriculum and adjust as necessary to underscore Ent’s culture and core values.   

Ensure Development of Engaging Delivery Models:



  • Confirm learning delivery models are engaging, relevant, and meaningful utilizing the most effective technology for our need.

  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and ideas.

  • Work to verify instructors are effective and delivering the best quality presentations.

Set Vision and Accountability for Employee Experience with Career Planning:



  • Support career planning initiatives and timely communication throughout the organization.

  • Follow-up with business partners and courses being utilized.

  • Ensure our mentoring strategy is being implemented consistently throughout all business units and at all levels

  • Oversee the decision process to determine the correct number and type of assessment tools and gain regular feedback

Team Building / Goal Alignment:




  •  Provide vision, direction, and inspiration for team assigned tasks.

  • Sets tactical and strategic goals with direct reports and helps drive alignment with corporate strategic initiatives.

  • Provides individual guidance and feedback through regular performance evaluations. 

Other duties as required.


Minimum formal education required for this position:


Knowledge consistent with Bachelor’s degree in Education, Organizational Design, Business Administration, Communication or other related field of study.


Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in a relevant degree program or vice versa.  For example, a requirement of “Knowledge Consistent with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 2+ years’ of accounting experience” could be substituted for a High School Diploma and 6 years of relevant accounting work experience or a Master’s Degree in Accounting and 0 years of work experience.  


Minimum work experience:


10+ years’ combined experience with educational programming design, delivery, career counseling or related general education experience to include at least 5 years curriculum design and delivery specific experience.


5+ years’ supervisory experience.


(Preferred) 10+ years’ educational design and delivery experience related to adult learning in a corporate setting.

  • Advanced knowledge of adult learning, facilitation, instructional design, and development is required.

  • Advanced communication skills including written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required with the ability to work with all levels of the organization.

  • Knowledge, application, and professional experience in adult learning theory, methodology, instructional design and training systems, practices, and techniques.

  • Experience in professional presentations, including teaching in secondary and/or post-secondary levels.

  • Background in designing and delivering virtual and recorded learning.

  • A strong understanding and exposure to mentoring and coaching.

  • Proven planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple and diverse projects.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and consistent, logical and effective decision-making.

  • Able to modify approaches taken based on data driven observations and willingness to try new approaches.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Expertise in technical writing to include training manuals, memoranda, and proposals.

  • Experience with assessment tools.

  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.

  • (Preferred) Working knowledge of basic learning management systems (LMS) maintenance / configurations.

  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word/Excel/Outlook).

Certifications required:



  • Colorado Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

  • Within 1 year of obtaining position, must complete a certification in Adult Learning and/or Training Design & Delivery from ATD or a similar certification approved by the Vice President of Education.

Environmental, physical and psychological requirements: 



  • Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time in a climate controlled environment. Must be able to use fingers, hands, wrists for repetitive tasks such as typing, using a mouse, handling paper, currency, or coin, and operating a telephone.   Demands for visual and auditory acuity are typical of an office environment.  Must be able to interact via email, telephone, or in person with diplomacy, tact, and courtesy with all members under varying circumstances.  Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.  Must be able to operate a motor vehicle for the purposes of meeting vendors / community contacts offsite for various business reasons.

Salary range for this position: $141,481.80 - $212,243.20 (This position is eligible for an annual corporate bonus based upon performance)
