Job Description Summary:

The Associate Director, Corporate Communications is responsible for managing corporate communications across all internal and external communication channels. This includes responsibility for executing the overall communications strategy for the organization including, corporate announcements, content development for both internal and external channels at a national/global level, press releases, bylined articles, white papers, corporate videos and marketing collateral.

They may aid in the preparation of presentations and/or speeches geared toward employees and external audiences to position the Company as a leader in rare disorders, drive awareness of the therapeutic areas that the Company is pursuing, support trial enrollment and advocacy and support the Company’s corporate and product media communications.

This individual will work closely with the VP, Corporate Communications to create and develop corporate materials and presentations and execute the overall communications strategy for the organization. This includes but is not limited to alignment and coordination of global corporate and brand materials, cross departmental support and content management for multiple stakeholders including employees, media, healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups, patients and caregivers.

The incumbent works cross-functionally with internal departments and external resources on all aspects of corporate communications related issues.

The position supports adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the creation, editing and managing the approval of global corporate press releases, key message and Q&A documents

  • Manages PTC’s internal and external communications including partnering with executives, business leaders to effectively communicate key initiatives and events across the global organization.

  • Develops and creates content for the organization to be utilized across PTC’s communication channels both internally and externally including materials for employees, internal news, articles for the newsroom, social media posts and websites (corporate, product related, non-branded, etc.)

  • Participates in the creation and editing of corporate videos and marketing collateral

  • Aids in the creation of presentations and speeches intended for a variety of internal and external audiences.

  • Thinks creatively to produce new ideas and concepts and developing interactive design for implementations across communication platforms for the Company.

  • Identifies curated content to share across platforms and creates relevant and inspirational content which adheres to the corporate and brand strategy.

  • Develops new ways to deliver campaigns and experiences to our target audiences.

  • Takes on other ad-hoc projects which can include anything from the development of apps, websites, film creation, and slide creation.

  • Builds and grows relationships, defines strategies and maintains continuing collaborations with well-known and potential influencers in line with corporate and brand strategy.

  • Performs other tasks and assignments as needed and specified by management.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications or a related field and a minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate communications in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related environment.

  • Experience in working at a PR agency focused in biotech and pharmaceuticals a plus.

  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/publishing skills are essential, including ability to present concepts verbally.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current communication trends.

  • Self-starter, detailed-oriented individual with proven track record implementing strategy across multiple channels, working on global initiatives and working in cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to jump into a fast-moving environment and absorb information quickly.

  • Ability to communicate technical information for understanding across variety of audiences.

  • Excellent project management and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Ability to work well under the pressure of deadlines and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical development and operation business.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Projects).

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while working with highly sensitive information and use excellent judgment on a variety of sensitive subjects.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members.

  • Travel requirements: 10%

  • Office/Virtual based position; can be remote (east coast)
