We're looking to hire a Project Engineer to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This position is responsible forthe administrative duties associated with the assigned projects which includes project setup, issuance of purchase orders/subcontracts, forecasting, billings, change orders, submittals, field dimensions, material releases, coding invoices for A/P, routine correspondence, and project closeout.

Responsibilities:


  • Directly manages assigned job from initial order through job completion, must be able to manage a higher number of smaller and less complex jobs

  • Assist SPM and PM in managing larger, more complex jobs assigned by Operations Manager

  • Assist SPM and PM in managing key customers

  • Maintain expected profit levels

  • Order Entry, ensuring projects are entered accurately and timely by Purchasing

  • Working with the assigned project coordinator to manage the submittal process. Confirm submittal materials are produced accurately to specification and/or customer expectations, while making sure the submitted items match what was quoted

  • Maintain open communication with all parties involved in the project. Providing timely, professional written responses to customers inquiries concerning product, schedules, installation, conflicts problems, vendors, etc., as may be required

  • Ensure vendors on any given project are fulfilling their obligations to H2I Group, Inc. and our customers, while maintaining a professional working relationship with them. Ordering vendor products required per current company processesand approving vendor payments.

  • Develop and coordinate schedule to ensure projects are completed on time. Including but not limited to product delivery, installation (either in-house or with subcontracted installers), production keeping in mind lead times, site meetings, punch list, phasing, etc.

  • Prepare or assist in preparing and submitting necessary change orders reflecting the change of cost/sell price relative to a customer’s request for additions, deletions, and/or modifications, while up-selling whenever possible

  • Promptly removing anything which prevents timely collection of monies from customers

  • Assist in Project Forecasting and Communicating billing schedule

  • Assist PM with schedule of values and determine taxable products/dollar amounts with our Accounting team

  • Attending site meetings, as needed and maintaining customer relations with site coordinator and other trades

  • Assist PM in negotiations as necessary to protect company interests

  • Work with the Sales team to develop and nurture new and existing clients

  • Attend internal/external training opportunitiesand perform internal training relative to operations as needed for Sales, PM interns and PC’S

  • Assist in the training and development of Project Interns and Project Coordinators to a successful position

  • Travel to job sites to inspect work and participate in various meetings such as Trade Coordination meetings, Company presentations, and Installation Coordination meetings as required

  • Develop necessary internal and external relationships to successfully assist in managing projects to meet or exceed customer expectations

  • Work with Operations Manager to develop programs for improving/enhancing processes with H2I Group, Inc.

  • All employees are responsible for complying with company procedures and safety requirements including reviewing work area daily for potential safety and health hazards, reporting potential hazards to their supervisors as well as reporting any work-related injuries or illnesses to their supervisors as well

What We’re Looking For:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in related field is preferred but not required

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience is required

  • Strong technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills, in a professional environment

  • Prior work experience within Viewpoint, an accounting software

  • Solid interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills

  • Must be a self-starter with a high level of integrity, professionalism, dependability, enthusiasm and ethical judgement

  • Strong quantitative analysis and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to learn the specification and technical details of the product lines that H2I Group distributes as well as those of our competition

  • Maintain an organized and clean workspace

  • Foster positive teamwork relationships with vendors and fellow employees

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without Visa sponsorship

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License to be able to drive to and from job sites


Travel Required: Periodic travel to job sites as required, approximately once per month
