Job Description:



Summary:




This position is responsible for verifying quantity, quality, labeling, and addressing of products and items of merchandise ready for shipment.




 




 




Essential Duties & Responsibilities






  • Counts and examines packaging and contents of items for conformance to company specifications





  • Compares items packed with customer's order and other identifying data





  • Reads pick list to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed





  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department





  • Marks materials with identifying information





  • Records amount of materials distributed





  • Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers





  • Uses the computer to enter data





  • Maintains inventory records





  • Reports stock inaccuracies to a supervisor





  • Complete all training defined and made available for the currently assigned role.  Responsible for attending all training made available assuring full understanding of the training and have the ability to perform trained activities.




  • Responsible for the review of specific functional area BRC criteria.  Ensure BRC protocols are implemented and audited as required. Provide employee training as needed. Ensure Food products meet safety, quality and legal requirements




 




Knowledge and Experience:




 






  • Education and/or Experience



    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one-month related experience or training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.







  • Forklift Experience



     







  • Communication Skills



    It is essential to have excellent communication skills, verbal and written.  Ability to read and follow written work instructions.





  • Computer Skills                                  



          Perform limited data entry into the manufacturing software system





  • Mathematical Skills



    Must have basic math skills to add, subtract, and divide.





  • Reasoning Ability                              



    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.  Capacity to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.



     



     



    Work Environment:



     



    Physical Requirements



    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.



     



    Environmental Concerns 



    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.  Floors are wet. The use of sharp knives is required to open bags, cartons, and drums.  The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.  Dust and odor present in the environment. The employee will operate a lift truck at various heights.
