If you are a Human Resources Generalist professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Rushville, IN location, you will provide human resource support for a fast-paced manufacturing environment with approximately 200 employees, serving a national customer base. Works closely with HR Manager and facility operations to ensure facility employee relations are addressed and planned staffing levels are maintained. Performs critical administrative responsibilities including employee benefits, FMLA, training, orientation, and Corporate and governmental reporting. Assists in the administration of facility-specific health and safety programs. AS A HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST, YOU WILL: 


  • Utilize applicant sourcing systems to track, maintain and onboard hourly employees 
  • Manage temporary agency relationships 
  • Conduct orientation and required trainings
  • Assist with coordination of facility health and safety program 
  • Provide positive customer service and employee relations in order to facilitate daily interaction, including face to face, with internal and external customers 
  • Administer employee benefits and FMLA
  • Assist staff in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures
  • Maintain information in Oracle HR system
  • Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to all HR related matters and information 
  • General HR administrative duties

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor's degree plus 1 years of related experience (co-op or intern experience may be considered) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and problem solving skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Must have excellent computer skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Internet applications
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Legal work authrization in the United States

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

  • 2+ plus years of HR experience
  • Geographically mobile for future career advancement opportunities
  • PHR/SHRM Certification
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with HRIS systems

ScheduleWe offer a work life balance to our employees, general working hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week.

About our Location
Rushville, IN: The 2-building campus offers a safe and clean work environment with a “family” atmosphere. The Rushville facilities are part of the Emerson Commercial Residential Solutions Division. We manufacture new semi-hermetic compressors and take the worn-out, failed compressors out of the field and remanufacture them to like new status, as well as manufacture crank shafts. Approximately 200 employees work in Rushville and are an integral part of our organization. A 2-building campus allows for learning and growth opportunities for all our team
