Morrison & Foerster LLP, an Am Law 50 law firm with 16 offices worldwide, has an opening for a Director of Attorney Learning & Development within our Attorney Talent Group. This role can be based in any of our U.S. locations. (San Francisco, Palo Alto, Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., Miami)
The Director of Attorney Learning & Development will strategically lead, structure, and expand the learning, development and performance management capabilities Firmwide in order to enhance the skills and abilities of our attorneys and delight our internal clients. This individual will build strong relationships to institutionalize a culture of learning, coaching, feedback and performance enablement where all levels of attorneys are highly engaged in continuous development. The Director will ensure that the learning & development group delivers recognized measurable value and internal client service to the legal practices.
The Director will closely collaborate with talent leaders and practice leaders to implement and advance various initiatives related to:
Onboarding and integration
Attorney workflow integration
Morale, retention and employee engagement
Diversity and inclusion ("D&I")
Practice area specific training
Associate performance review process
J.D or equivalent advanced degree and a minimum of 10 to 15 years' experience within a legal or professional services environment strongly preferred
Substantive professional skills training experience and ability to coach attorneys on effective practice skills training design and delivery
Deep expertise in instructional design methods, adult learning principles and facilitation
Strong supervisory and management experience and success in developing a high-performing team

for colorado applicants : Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately $222k to $248k. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus or commission. Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO.
