Dun & Bradstreet Technology team is looking for a high performing, results oriented, technology savvy Quality Engineer II for our Credibility business unit to work closely with development, finance, product, marketing and sales operations teams to ensure that work across teams (and internal issues) are resolved in a timely manner.  Our team is fast-paced, agile, and always working with deadlines so you must be comfortable under pressure. This position requires strong organizational skills and a lot of problem solving.  The Quality Engineer II will help the Product Engineering team to be high-performing and efficient. 

Specifically…


  • Join application development team immediately working on Dun & Bradstreet strategic technical initiatives.


  • Ensure our product delivers a high quality experience for our users, partners and cross functional teams. 


  • Build and execute automated as well as manual test plans independently. 


  • Detect anomalies and test complex features within the application in addition to back end processes.


  • Manage the communication and escalation among cross functional groups.


  • Work closely and efficiently with the product and development team to complete requirements.


  • Troubleshoot issues associated with the integrations, document production problems and coordinate the escalation of issues.


  • Ensure that issues are identified, tracked, reported and resolved in a timely manner.


  • Must possess strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills


  • Effectively communicate technical information in both written and verbal forms to both technical and non-technical personnel.


Key Responsibilities:


  •  Design and deliver risk based test plans and test coverage which includes functional, integration, end-to-end, user acceptance, and production test for new and existing features Dun & Bradstreet applications.  Analyze requirements and design and perform gap analysis.  Apply QA best practices and develop test strategy for a thorough test coverage.  Execute tests in all environments (QA, Staging and Production).  


  • Contribute and participate in the change management process to assess the risk of putting fixes into the environment during acceptance testing.  Assist the test team in isolating the source of discrepancies between expected and actual test results. If the error is in software design, thoroughly analyze the ramifications of any design changes.


  • Provide mentorship and knowledge transfer to peers in best practices and automation development, e.g., 1:1 discussions, group discussions, presentations for continuing improvement.


Education/Experience and Competencies


  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field of study with quantitative background. 


  • Five to eight years experience as Quality Assurance Engineer in an ecommerce industry.


  • Five to eight years designing and delivering risk based test plans for new features and functionality, choosing the right method of testing for each situation or phase (scenario, exploratory, scripted, automated, etc.).


  • Five years or more QA experience in Billing/Customer Service Portal ecommerce testing and in a web environment (internet/startup or consulting position preferred)


  • Two years of experience as a Quality Engineer integrating programming languages such as Java, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Postman, Rest API, JMeter and SQL Server as part of their developed QA test plan strategies.  


  • Strong communicator who has proven ability to work effectively with peers and management alike in a very fast paced environment. 


  • Strong quality advocate, collaborating closely with data/software engineers, designers, and product managers to release high quality products.


  • Five to eight years of experience with SDLC, Agile Methodology, and Quality Assurance Best Practices developing test strategy including test plan, test scenarios and test cases to ensure test coverage.


  • Experience working with both onsite and offshore team members, manage test assignments and review their test/defect reports and triage them in a timely manner.


  • Knowledge of modern best practices for professional software development including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. 


  • Understanding of software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including agile software development, use of software IDEs, use of source control management.


  • Two years experience designing and developing automated test plans using third party software such as Selenium or other Web UI automation frameworks.
