ISS Market Intelligence (ISS MI), a business unit of Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS), seeks a Marketing & Communications Associate.

The Marketing & Communications Associate will report to the Head of Marketing for ISS MI and manage strategy and execution across all marketing and communications activities for designated ISS MI business units. Additionally, this person will be the team lead responsible for content marketing and thought leadership development and execution. He/She will be responsible for building strong relationships with a diverse group of senior business leaders and key stakeholders within the ISS MI marketing and broader MI team. This candidate will build awareness for designated ISS MI business units and their offerings, convey the unique value propositions and develop programs that drive adoption, engagement, and retention of its solutions.

In concert with the head of Marketing for ISS MI, specific responsibilities include:

  • Partner with the head of Marketing for ISS MI to develop strategic go-to-market plans for division businesses, including developing positioning, messaging, and sales enablement programs

  • Become familiar with a broad array of unique audience segments and copy-writing best practices - with the goals of (i) becoming a topic specialist in a particular market/solution area and (ii) applying that knowledge to improve customer outcomes

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of multiple content channels and write original content by conducting necessary research and ensuring content aligns with the business goals and communicates the desired message

  • Assist team colleagues with a variety of marketing projects that can include: the writing of various marketing and sales collateral across digital and print channels, copy evaluation, campaign optimization

  • Updating the content of existing print, email, presentation, and web communication materials with new information to reflect current tone, statistics, and timeframes

  • Collaborate with internal media team to raise the profile of ISS MI and solutions to achieve increased media attribution, PR mentions, and enhanced social media presence

  • Analyze the performance data of email campaigns to develop copywriting best practices/audience insights (e.g., click-thru rates, conversion rates, open rates)

  • Leverage client and prospect data to derive actionable insights and targeting strategies that inform digital marketing and social media outreach

  • Assist in the development, execution, and tracking of lead generation programs for sales


  • BA/BS Degree in a related field bachelor's degree (with a concentration in marketing, communications, English, journalism, or business preferred)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of senior business leaders; strong grammar and syntax skills; strong presentation skills; strong interpersonal skills

  • Exceptional marketing copy-writing and ability to produce compelling writing in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Extreme attention to detail, especially when it comes to spelling and grammar

  • 5+ plus years' experience in asset management and/or financial services and/or data analytics a strong plus

  • Demonstrated ability to convey industry/ product expertise

  • Hands-on experience supporting sales enablement and/or marketing technology platforms a strong plus (i.e., Salesforce, Eloqua, LinkedIn, HubSpot, etc.)

  • Experience in supporting and driving digital marketing campaigns a strong plus•

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to manipulate basic templates in PowerPoint and Word

  • Remote until the Midtown Manhattan, NY office reopens, and employees return
