Responsibilities

Engineering position supporting and improving the processes associated with: 1) pre-treatment and activation of gallium arsenide photocathodes, 2) electron scrubbing of micro-channel plates, and 3) sealing of image intensifier tubes under ultra-high vacuum. Job responsibilities would include:

• Gathering and evaluating process data to identify and correct performance issues


• Partnering with R&D engineers to enhance the performance characteristics of the finished image intensifier tube


• Working with and training bargaining unit employees to improve work processes and product quality


• Optimizing manufacturing and testing processes/equipment and implementing cost reduction opportunities (yield and productivity improvements, waste elimination)


• Using process equipment, test instruments, and precision gauges in appropriate situations


• Working to minimize or eliminate safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity problems

• 4 year Bachelor's degree in Engineering field preferably electrical or computer science


• 
  5+ years relevant experience in manufacturing engineering or equivalent


• Experience with data mining and interpretation (MS-Access, SQL, JMP)


• Expertise in Visual Studio programming languages (C, C++, C#, VB, Python)


• Strong analytical abilities and trouble-shooting techniques


• Strong verbal and written communication skills


• Capable of performing self-directed work but also the ability to work effectively within a team


• Experience in a manufacturing environment
  


• Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required


• Ability to obtain Security Clearance
  


• Must be able to comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, Company Policies and Procedures

• Expertise/knowledge of ultra high vacuum technology


• Expertise/knowledge of electron bombardment/scrubbing


• Expertise/knowledge of gallium arsenide photocathode activation


• Hardware integration experience
