Responsibilities
Engineering position supporting and improving the processes associated with: 1) pre-treatment and activation of gallium arsenide photocathodes, 2) electron scrubbing of micro-channel plates, and 3) sealing of image intensifier tubes under ultra-high vacuum. Job responsibilities would include:
Gathering and evaluating process data to identify and correct performance issues
Partnering with R&D engineers to enhance the performance characteristics of the finished image intensifier tube
Working with and training bargaining unit employees to improve work processes and product quality
Optimizing manufacturing and testing processes/equipment and implementing cost reduction opportunities (yield and productivity improvements, waste elimination)
Using process equipment, test instruments, and precision gauges in appropriate situations
Working to minimize or eliminate safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity problems
Qualifications
4 year Bachelor's degree in Engineering field preferably electrical or computer science
5+ years relevant experience in manufacturing engineering or equivalent
Experience with data mining and interpretation (MS-Access, SQL, JMP)
Expertise in Visual Studio programming languages (C, C++, C#, VB, Python)
Strong analytical abilities and trouble-shooting techniques
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Capable of performing self-directed work but also the ability to work effectively within a team
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required
Ability to obtain Security Clearance
Must be able to comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, Company Policies and Procedures
Preferred Skills:
Expertise/knowledge of ultra high vacuum technology
Expertise/knowledge of electron bombardment/scrubbing
Expertise/knowledge of gallium arsenide photocathode activation
