Best Buy is seeking innovative and technically curious Sr. Engineering Manager - Best Buy Health to join us as we make a huge impact in the e-commerce and digital health space. Best Buy Health is a new division within Best Buy that is focused on delivering high quality digital health experiences that allow people to lead longer and healthier lives. The goal is to be the technical and support infrastructure that powers virtual care for our partners. We are looking for experienced people to lead the build out of native app and web-based consumer facing experiences. What will you do as a Senior Engineering Manager – Best Buy Health
Be part of the Best Buy Health mobile apps engineering team responsible for designing and implementing technical solutions that will reach massive scale.
Leading team working on the native apps for our new Best Buy Health initiatives.
Participates in all phases of the project lifecycle – architecture, design, development, MVP, and Dev Ops.
Work closely with business and technical leads across the Best Buy Health organization
Lead the design and development of key technology initiatives
Lead multiple agile teams of skilled developers/engineers
Strong demonstrated ability to work directly with technical leads, engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders
Use your creative and innovation-driven mindset to articulate engineering design strategies related to scale, performance, security, and usability.
Designing back-end services and abstractions to help mobile apps retrieve information from various domain services.
Minimum Qualifications:
8 or more years of progressive responsibilities in one or more of the following areas: software/web development, application delivery, design or architecture for web or service-oriented environments and a Bachelor’s degree; or 10+ years’ of the same experience without a Bachelor’s degree
1 or more years of experience leading development teams (technical leadership, work direction, coaching and mentoring)
2 or more years using modern JavaScript frameworks; React or React Native is highly preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Bluetooth or IoT connectivity
Experience with native iOS or Android development
Agile development practical experience
Test-driven development, refactoring, automated unit test, integration test, functional test, and continuous integration/deployment.
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
Experience using distributed version control systems, such as Git
Experience with bug tracking software such as Jira
