As the Sr. Manager Corporate Strategy, reporting to the Director, Strategy you will lead project teams to support strategic analysis and strategy formulation on behalf of both the enterprise and individual business units and functional groups.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities


  • Develop workplans and convene cross-functional teams to support strategy projects
  • Serve as project leader representing Corporate Strategy for the purposes of individual internal engagements
  • Lead teams of associates/analysts (internal and third-party), review work product, and control team deliverables
  • Manage and develop consulting toolkit of strategy associates
  • Scoping and commitment of Corporate Strategy team resources to individual projects
  • Determination and communication of key messages and conclusions to project sponsors and stakeholders
  • Performance evaluation of strategy associates
  • Management of Corporate Strategy project pipeline and acceptance of new mandates
  • Acquisition and use of third-party consulting services, tools, and other resources

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5 years of relevant experience

  • MBA or other advanced degree

  • Management consulting, investment banking, or other business strategy experience

  • Ability and interest in supporting skill development of junior colleagues

  • Comfort and facility with both quantitative and qualitative information

  • Executive-level presence and communication style

  • Development and cultivation of senior-level relationships

  • Deep understanding of SVB structure, products, client base, and business model

  • Strong familiarity with commercial banking industry trends and growth levers

  • Awareness and ongoing monitoring of developments in tech/life sciences innovation ecosystem

  • Well-established consulting toolkit (research, quantitative analysis, qualitative synthesis, written/oral communication)

  • Ability to own end-to-end storyline for clear and concise communication of findings

  • Team management and professional development of associate team members
