Provide Senior level technical Measurement consulting, guidance, support and leadership for our natural gas assets. Primary lead to help troubleshoot and resolve complex Measurement problems, customer issues, and high balance losses and/or gains. Our goal is timely and accurate Measurement.
Essential duties and responsibilities
This senior position will complement a Technical Support group who is for responsible analyzing/helping resolve Lost and Unaccounted for (L&U) gas, supporting Field Technicians and troubleshooting measurement issues.
Provide leadership and guidance related to measurement testing protocols, equipment certification, system troubleshooting and repairs in compliance with applicable codes, standards and procedures.
Provide internal and external customers and stakeholders subject matter expertise in Measurement.
Support and/or oversee the investigation, and make recommendations toward the resolution of customer discrepancy claims.
Help support and ensure proper O&M (Operations and Maintenance) and interdepartmental procedures are developed and being followed
Lead Measurement/meter facility audits as necessary.
Work very closely with the Volume Processing and Balancing Teams to provide general support, help troubleshoot issues and help troubleshoot issues and locate concerns impacting the system balances.
Support measurement data audit requests to and from external customers
Readily communicate important Measurement related updates, information, changes that impact our Measurement Teams and our Customer groups
Represent the Measurement Department in various types of internal and external business meetings and business projects
Participate in and Lead Industry related organizations and committees. Influence and help drive technology, and seek ways to leverage that technology for Kinder Morgan.
Provide support and guidance for department committees
Work with Director and managers on goals, projects and process improvements
Lead teams on special projects and initiatives as assigned by management
Ensure individual and team compliance with department budget requirements and guidelines
Drive/support training initiatives and process for team(s) and department
Position Requirements
Education
Four year bachelor's Engineering Degree from an accredited college
Certificates from applicable Gas Measurement industry training courses are preferred
Experience:
10 + years practical measurement experience in gas / pipeline / utility field(s).
Direct experience with gas and potentially liquid measurement processes
Direct experience in leading projects and project teams
Experience in design and operating of pipelines and pipeline facilities preferred
Participate in industry working group and committees (AGA/PRCI/API)
Competencies/Skills/Abilities:
Working knowledge of gas measurement transactional systems
Working knowledge of Industry measurement standards (e.g. API, AGA, ASME, GPA, CFR, etc.).
Strong data analysis and data mining skills
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Experience with Microsoft Access or SQL query writing tools
